I recently returned from a trip to Florida, and brought many, many various sunscreens with me. This, hands down, was the #1 choice of everyone, from my 7 year old to the 4 teens/young adults with me. Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate is octinoxate, the chemical found in most sunscreens. It absorbs through the skin readily, persists in tissue long after exposure and has been shown to have estrogenic effects in lab animals at levels comparable to those that sunscreen users would experience with use of the product. Best Uses Comments about Kiss My Face Sunscreen Sun Spray Lotion, SPF 30, 8 fl oz: I really like the sunscreen itself and really like that it was spray on, paraben free and non-aerosol. Unfortunately, the sprayer becomes clogged about 1/3 to 1/2 of the way through the bottle and it can't be fixed. When the first one stopped working, drugstore.com graciously sent me a second bottle for free. That sprayer also stopped working and despite washing it out and getting it to spray water, it won't spray the product anymore. So now we have two full-ish bottles of very runny sunscreen. We're pouring it out of the bottle now, but it's not the sort of thing I want to take with me and deal with at the pool. If the sprayer issue can be fixed I would purchase it again. Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about Kiss My Face Sunscreen Sun Spray Lotion, SPF 30, 8 fl oz: While this is advertised as "natural" and it's from the "Kiss My Face" line, one of the ingredients is ethylhexyl cinnawhatever. That is one of the chemical sunblocks that has been shown to cause mutations in DNA and there is huge controversy right now as to whether the chemical sunscreens may increase your risk of skin cancer! Personally, I believe that only the micronized titanium and zinc oxide are "natural" (or as close as you can get for sunscreen). Calling this "natural" even though it has a chemical sunscreen is misleading. With this order I happened to look at the ingredients list and saw that it now contains little zinc oxide, no titanium dioxide and now contains the very ingredients that I have been trying to avoid (due to studies showing that free radicals may result as they break down, causing more damage to the skin). Best Uses Comments about Kiss My Face Sunscreen Sun Spray Lotion, SPF 30, 8 fl oz: We were very unhappy with this purchase. The sprayer was broken and absolutely nothing would come out, in order to get any lotiion we had to unscrew the top. The lotion itself separated- even vigorous shaking for several minutes did not make it mix well, so every application involved dealing with a combination of runny, clumpy mess that we had to pour out of the bottle onto our hands. It did work, in the sense that with liberal application neither I or my two kids burned. But very messy and labor intensive. We made the mistake of bringing it on a vacation to the Caribbean, so reapplication was necessary every 2 hours and there were not many options for replacing it while we were there. Also called Octinoxate. This chemical is not any better than Oxybenzone. Don't use if you are staying away from chemical sunscreens. Comments about Kiss My Face Sunscreen Sun Spray Lotion, SPF 30, 8 fl oz: This stuff is pretty cool, especially for kids. Like a previous reviewer stated, you do have to rub it in after spraying it. It is a strong physical sun block with a good percentage of ZnO2. I really like it. (1 of 2 customers found this review helpful) Was this review helpful? Yes / No - You may also flag this review
