Kristin Ess started her career as a hairstylist at a prestigious Beverly Hills salon and soon became immersed in the world of editorial styling. In 2011 she took on two new projects – opening her own salon and cofounding TheBeautyDepartment.com with Amy Nadine and Lauren Conrad. Today she happily divides her time between the salon, styling her celebrity clients and creating hair and nail how-tos for the website.
