Comments about La Roche-Posay Acne Kit, 1 kit:

I'm nearly 43, have had sensitive combo to oily skin And acne since I was 11. Cystic acne is awful beyond words! I have PCOS, I have blood sugar issues, that means weight, acne, and blemish healing issues for me. Not fun. I tried this on the recommendation of a chain pharmacy employee as I was about to purchase a different brand. Glad I tried it!
I was in a rush to hopes of it being a miracle and should have eased into this line. I had a day of bad stinging all over my face! Although its been 9 days so far, I saw my skin texture improve after 2 days, saw pore size reducing after 4/5 days, and while 2 new blemishes (and not cystic ones -yay!!) started they were gone in 1-2 days. That Never happens!
Even with that said, I'd suggest easing into this line and start by using just the cleanser once a day for 4-5 days, then go to twice a day. Salicylic acid can be irritating to some skin and your skin may need some adjustment time. Then after a week I'd add the clarifying solution once a day (a little goes a long way on a cotton pad), start just at night. This can be drying, too, and can cause light peeling/flakiness, but nothing severe like I'm accustomed to with most acne products. Once you're up to twice a day then lightly spot treat any current acne and any you feel coming on with the Effaclar Duo. You won't believe how effective it is despite having less benzoyl peroxide than OTC brands you've likely tried! It will bleach colored items so be careful to thoroughly wash your fingers after applying it. It can also sting blemishes or peeled spots (neosporin helps).
I also purchased the Effaclar Mat moisturizer. It's light, not greasy, I apply just a thin layer in the morning/a little more at night. It truly is the Best makeup base I've ever used. For me, though, it does not matte any shine. It actually makes me shinier with or without makeup.
I space out 10-15 min time between applying the toner and moisturizer, and again before makeup so each product has a chance to soak in.
I'm impressed despite it maybe taking longer to work for me than for others but I'm sticking to it with optimism. If I can have the best skin that I can have, even if it's still not perfect, then it's worth the wait to me!
Try it, ease into it, give it a couple weeks, and realize you may need to swap out a different product within their line to achieve great skin because everyone's skin is different.
