Comments about La Roche-Posay Nutritic Lips, .15 fl oz:
I know it's strange, and I've made sure I'm certain about this before reviewing, but this balm is actually bad for my lips. I've been a regular user of Fresh Sugar Rose for 2 years, and normally my lips are in excellent condition. Not long ago, I started using several La Roche Posay products, including Anthelios SX, Active C for Combination Skin, and Active C eyes. These products are excellent, and are more reasonably priced than some of their competitors. When I tried this lip balm, I knew it wouldn't be as good as Fresh Sugar, but I never thought it would actually be bad. After using for two days, my lips were chapped red, and had crusty skin on top that needed to be exfoliated. Every time I use this, I get this dried out crusty skin, especially on my bottom lip. I normally don't have this, so I believe this balm seems to dry out the outer layers of my lip skin. I can't use this balm beneath lipstick or gloss, because this chapping reaction makes my lip color uneven. There must be something in these waxy balms that my lips cannot handle. (I had a similar problem with Avene Cold Cream Lip Balm.) Another thing about La Roche Posay Nutric Lips, which may be the underlying cause of al the problems I've listed, is that it doesn't seem to stay on my lips more than 10 minutes. If I put it on at night, my lips are all dried out in the morning. I am used to waking up to moist, soothed lips, because Fresh Sugar lasts all night. Even though La Roche Posay costs about $10.00 less, it's not worth it for me to stop my usual lip treatment.
