As is true with all lactase products, some trial and error was necessary in order to determine the appropriate number of tablets per amount of lactose being consumed. And that will likely vary per individual. If I could tolerate the slightly bitter flavor of the non-chewable tabs, I'd probably take those instead, but the chewables have a pleasant, faintly sweet, vanilla flavor which sometimes actually complements the food.

My 12 yr old (lactose intol) takes one w/any dairy. Found it works much better if he takes one w/first bite and then another pill about 1/2 hour later or at the end of the meal.

This has been a lifesaver for our extremely lactose intolerant 5 yo son. We no longer have to deny him a slice of a friend birthday cake or an occasional treat with dairy. We have been buying these for the past year -- they are safe for kids. Too bad that they don't make a generic of the chewables, but will continue to buy the name brand ones as they work so well.

I use this product because I have a lactose intolerance. They really work well for me. Everytime I eat a dairy product I take Lactaid. The vanila twist chewable are great.

I am extremely lactose intollerant. I take 8 pills at the beginning of a meal with ANY type of diary product. Although I still suffer with bloating there is no pain. Eating out has become less of a hassle.

Much easier to take than pills and works better too. Also tastes good!

I like these SO much better than the lactaid pills you swallow. Those didn't always seem to work right away, and they required a lot of water to make them work. I have moderate-severe lactose intolerance (depending on the day) and it almost always requires chewing two of these for them to do away with all symptoms.

That said, they are a smidge chalky and have a unique vanilla flavor - BUT, by your second or third bite of food it's swallowed and you can fully enjoy your meal. Oddly enough, once when I had french fries as a part of my meal I decided to take the pill while eating one, and the flavor was good!! Another suggestion is to chew them with something cold (like ice cream) and the flavor will seem more mild. They're really NOT that bad.
