I treated my 8 year old daughter with this product after I discovered she contracted Lice from who-knows-where (either school or gymnastics - probably the former), and in one treatment - GOODBYE disgusting LICE! My daughter's head even had live lice in it along with nits (eggs) - and this product killed them all. Of course I had to pick out nits for a week since her hair was 2 feet long when this occurred. Thankfully no other family members had Lice as well (me, hubby, and 6 year old son) - and I'd have to say it was because this product worked so well. I love the fact that it is non-toxic and the ease of use was too easy. This is worth every penny.

I used Nix the first time to treat the lice in my daughter's hair. It killed what was alive, but I guess the eggs hatched a few days later and I couldn't use the Nix again. My pediatrician recommended putting mayonaise on her hair overnight. Then this was recommended to me by a pharmacy. I used it and it killed what was on her hair and was much easier. But nothing kills the eggs. And you have to pull them out by hand pretty much. Bottom line, this works well to kill the bugs, but that's it.

This product worked like a charm. I was not interested in using a toxic product on my child's head and decided to try this despite mixed reviews. I'm really glad I did. The only way to really get rid of lice is to comb all of the nits out. My child's hair is so fine that her hair would slide right through the finest nit comb with nits still attached. With Licefreee! gel, the nits came right off the hair shaft. Since the product is nontoxic, I left it on her hair for an extra 30 minutes. The active ingredient is salt (sodium chloride) suspended in a gel. It has been over 10 days since she's been treated and thoroughly been combed, and still no nits. (You're supposed to check thoroughly daily for at least 2 weeks). So glad that a nontoxic product that dissolves nit glue is available!

this worked well, much better than the conditioner method. I used it this time at the first sign of lice, and then combed out her hair. The lice were dead. No more eggs hatched.
No matter the method you use, pesticide or what have you, you have to comb it out to get the eggs. This isn't a wash and go product, none are.

I am a school nurse. I used this product on two of my students. We followed the directions carefully--saturating the hair and scalp, leaving it on for more than 60 minutes. While I was trying to comb out nits, I found several live lice. I combed each section many, many times and still had many nits stuck to the hair shaft. I think I had better luck soaking a section of hair in isopropyl alcohol with cotton balls, then using the lice comb. That seemed to work better loosening the nits than the lice free.
Next time I will put olive oil in the hair, put on a shower cap, leave it on for eight hours or more. That will kill the lice. Then I will soak the hair in isoprophyl alcohol for one hour, then comb out the nits. Then shampoo hair, dry, and check each 1/4 inch section for nits with a rattail comb and pull by hand any remaining nits.

I purchased this product because my daughter has allergies to the ingredients in most of the products. BTW I am convinced the lice come from going to the movie theater and sitting in the movie theater seats in my area! Anyway, after applying the product and having my daughter sit for an hour, we washed up - I could see the lice happily running amok in her hair - UGH. Maybe, if it is non-toxic it might be okay to leave on longer? I don't know. Best of Luck - be sure and vaccum everything and launder and dry clothes and bedding in hot water. Good Luck!

This does not work. Used it numerous times hoping, praying that each time would be the last time, but no. Still had lice each and every time. I have gone back to the unfortunately poisonous remedies.

My twin daughters got lice and we battled it for 2 weeks. I literally felt like I was going crazy trying to get rid of the lice. If you're dealing with it, you know what I mean. My sister-in-law is a school principal and she told me about this product. I ordered it online because we live in small town. It worked amazingly well. I did not find any live bugs after I used the gel. It must have killed the eggs too because I haven't found any more lice -- and it's been 6 days. It smells good. The comb is made of metal and worked really well when I combed out. The biggest thing for me, besides the fact that it killed the lice completely, is that the killing ingredient is gelled salt. My sister-in-law raved about it because it's non-toxic and it works. I thought it was a little expensive - but not bad with the free comb.
