The article discussed the effectiveness of the ingredients unique to Listerine. With regular use I have had no cavities and did not require the root planing the dentist wanted to do. My teeth are as clean as professional cleaning can get when combining flossing, brushing and Listerine mouth wash. The only downside is the price, but aren't your teeth worth it! I used it two days ago and I still can't taste anything from the tip of my tongue to about halfway back. It burned while I was brushing, but I just figured it was the typical Listerine burn. This is my back up/travel toothpaste so I don't use it regularly, but this happened the last time I used it too so I know it's not just a fluke. Also, this tastes like Ben Gay or something. Gross. Buyer beware. On it, the labels says it has the same formula. The old formula contained essential oils (like eucalyptus and thymol), just like the mouthwash does. They were listed in the active ingredients as effective against gingivitis. This new product however has no essential oils listed and does taste different. It's basically missing the most important part of listerine. I won't be using it again.  Pros Cons Best Uses

However, it is so worth it! If you like the flavor of Listerine mouthwash, you will not be disappointed with this toothpaste. It's breath-freshening qualities last longer than any other toothpaste I've ever used. Before finding it, I had a mouthful of caps put in place in 1979. The caps are litterally 30 years old now and no problems with them. All dentists say to keep doing what you have been doing, because it is working. I attribute that to Listerine toothpaste. I love the minty gel best. I say lets get the word out so that this toothpaste is not discontinued.
