This product was awful. First, it was so difficult to get the wet/powdery stuff on my hair that to have covered my whole head would have taken at least 3 boxes. Secondly, it was extremely harsh and bleached my hair. Finally, I ended up with awful orange and black stripes in my hair after using this. Awful product.

This is for anyone wanting to go lighter with their hair dying. I natural have dark hair and have been coloring it now for over 10 years and never used a remover. I've been through all colors and decided I wanted to go back a little lighter for spring and used this remover. After using this and then dying my hair the color is awesome. But it will leave your hair feeling like straw. I did the honey treatment in my hair and now my hair feels like it should.

In spite of the negatives I've mentioned, this product works for me. I color my hair monthly and every couple of years or so, the color begins looking too dark and flat with an unflattering reddish tint. My natural color is cool, dark brown and I'm usually applying light to medium ash browns, but my hair soaks it up and it turns dark. So, I use this product to strip off the color and start fresh. First, it's CRUCIAL to read the instructions at least once before doing this. You will not be taken back to your natural color because that color went away the first time you colored your hair. After stripping the color, you will have a dry mass of hair that's anywhere from orange to light orange. It will look hideous. After you rinse, shampoo and dry your hideous mess, you'll apply your new haircolor. After using the conditioner that comes with the color, my hair returns to a softer more normal state. IMPORTANT: Unless you hair is super short, buy two kits because you will need them. If you have shoulder length hair or longer, buy at least three. You do not get enough product in one kit. My hair is a bob, about two inches below my ears and one kit barely does half the job. Also, this is very runny and will ruin any fabric it touches. I've used this three times in the past five years, two times with great results, once with disastrous results. I called the 800 number after my disaster and their main concern was making sure they had my age correct, so don't depend on help there. My mistake then was not leaving the stripper on long enough (it takes about 50 minutes for me) and then not leaving my new color on the maximum allowable time. If you have thin, fragile hair, I wouldn't use this. My hair is coarse, thick and can take a lot of abuse and survives this treatment fine. If you're not comfortable doing risky things with your hair, go to a salon so you won't be disappointed or risk damaging your hair. Also, if you have a sensitive scalp, don't use this because it burns and itches and can be uncomfortable.

I used this and the similar Color Oops repeatedly in the past to fix too-black hair color. This will fry your hair and leave your ends strawlike, but it will remove the color. It does not take you back to your natural color, in most cases, but will take you from black/dark brown to reddish light brown. One n Only Color Fix is a MUCH better product. It removes color just as well without frying, damaging, or drying out your hair. I will NEVER use this again. One n Only Color Fix! I can't stress this enough.

THIS PRODUCT IS INTENDED FOR PEOPLE THAT HAVE DYED THEIR HAIR A MUCH DARKER COLOR TO UNDESIRABLE RESULTS. DO NOT USE IT IF YOU HAVE DIED YOUR HAIR BLONDE. THE RESULTS ARE HORRENDOUS. IT TURNS BLONDE HAIR PURE WHITE/BLOTCHY YELLOW!!!! ONLY MEANT TO BE USED FOR BRUNETTES/DARKER DYE JOBS.
