I have used this color for about 3 years now and continue to get compliments on it. I get the same results as if I went to a salon and spent $70 for the color and highlights. I have a hard time applying it sometimes and especially with the placement of the highlights but it always manages to come out great!

I have medium brown hair with red tones in it. I color my hair with this product about every 4 months. It grows out so well, that's as often as I need to use it. The color works so well with the hightlights, the person who cuts my hair loves it and says she could not do any better, and I go to a great salon (Salon Jack, Tampa).
I love this product and will continue to use it.

The steps are easy however in my opinion, extremely messing. In order to get the highlights were you want them to be, you have to comb out your hair, which led to a lot of lost hair for me. Secondly, it's just too messy to try to do your highlights and keep the rest of your hair out of your face. Lastly, the color bleeds on your towels for a good week or so. Not worth the time.

I used to love this product because it gave natural looking dark color and the highlights made it even more natural and I've had several stylists think it was done in a salon.
However, this last time I used it, it bled color onto my towels for 3 shampoos - so for a week. I am someone who rinses extra long, and after first time I used it I rinsed extra long in sink *and* in shower, so this should not happen. I had to sleep with a towel on my pillowcases as well. Very unhappy and frustrated that I won't be able to use this product again.

I have naturally medium brown hair with lots of red tones. I like to dye my hair a dark brown with lots of red in it. I have always been happy with Loreal hair color. I don't go for "natural" looks, I like dark red colors. I did a lot of research on this product/shade before buying. I love the look I got from this color! It's a very pretty deep brown/red shade. The highlights are a pretty lighter red shade, and it all goes together very well. I have super thick hair and there was enough product for my long thick hair. It was a little tricky to place the highlights, as they show up a bright blue color, but my hair is so dark that I couldn't really see where they were placed, so I had to feel around a lot to try to see which strands were wet with product. I started underneath and worked my way to the front of my hair/crown. It took me about an hour just to place the highlights, so the ones underneath were much lighter than in the front. I liked this color combo a lot and already bought 3 more boxes for future use. Just be careful when placing the highlights in the back of your hair/head, not to put them too close together or you will have too many lighter strands. That is the only problem I had really, just doing too many too close together in the back because I couldn't see the blue very well. It did dry out my hair pretty bad, but I just used a hair mask afterwards to restore moisture. Also, we all know that red is the hardest color to keep up, and it requires a lot of maintenence. I use sulfate free shampoo and conditioner, red colored shampoo and conditioner, hair mask, and leave in conditioner with sunscreen as well. I alternate the colored products with the sulfate free products and only wash my hair every 2-3 days. After you dye your hair, try not to wash it again for at least 24-48 hours. This will help the color sink in and last longer. I also had to use shampoo when rinsing the highlights out of my hair, as they were dry and the product is hard to remove with only water. I am very impressed with the color combo I got from this product, but it certainly doesn't look "natural", but again that is not what I was going for anyway. I wanted this exact color and was scheduled to have my hair salon do this for me for about $200+. I was able to cancel that appt, and only have my hair cut after I did this myself. My hair dresser was suprised I was able to do this on my own, and she even said that she doesn't think she would have been able to acheive this exact color combo with her professional line of hair color. She asked what the color was called, so she could order something that could give her clients the same look. It's not for everyone, as you have to know what you are looking for and what looks good on you. I did do a strand test first, clipping of a large chunk of my hair underneath, and using hair color first, then highlights to see how long I should leave each one on my hair, and if it would turn my hair orange or not. It did not, and I am very impressed. But you need to practice first, and make sure this is the look that you want. I had previously dyed my light roots a dark chocolate brown so that they did not turn a bright red color when using this red hair dye. Make sure you touch up your lighter roots before using this red, or you will have bright red roots and dark red ends. I have done this before using Loreal reds. That is the only thing you really need to worry about. Just make sure you do a strand test first, to ensure your color results. I love love love it!! Very cool, funky, and just me. Not the normal hair color you get from a box, and super affordable. I am proud of myself for doing such a good job, and am doing my mothers hair with a different shade asap. I really do have a lot of experience with my hair, so I was prepared to do this myself. You might want some help if you are not used to doing your own hair, and using deep reds. You may not like the result if you are not familiar with how your hair pulls color. My husband loves it too, and he is happy to save the $200+ for me to get my hair colored. :) I am hooked and will only use this from now on, along with chocolate brown for root touch ups prior to placing the red. I use this about every 2 months. I used to pay almost 100.00 for similar color and then I got brave one day and tried this, was a little shocked at first b/c of how deep the color was, but learned to love it quickly. I have never had so many comments on how pretty my hair is and so many people ask me where I go to get my hair done, they are shocked when I say I do it myself b/c they think it looks so complex. It does take about an hour to do at home, but I think it is worth it to save 80 + dollars!!! not to mention all the compliments I get!!

This is the easiest, best outcome for home hair color I have ever experienced. You get all components you need...plus 2 pairs of gloves. my moderately long hair was completely done, by me alone, in under an hour. i love the final result. it looks great! i'm so happy. i will only use this product from now on. that's a vow.

I used this product for the first time two months ago. I am naturally a light golden brown. This product states it is recommended for darker shades. I wanted to try something new so my teenage daughter told me to be bold with this one. It is the absolute best color ever. I have had so many compliments and told how young I look. I just love it. I would not recommend this color for anyone who wants a natural look. This color is vibrant and bold.
