As I've gotten older, my lashes seem to have gotten thinner and shorter. I need a mascara that adds volume and length, and have tried several over the last couple years with disappinting results. I finally splurged on "they're REAL" by Benefit. Good results with a hefty price tag. But NO MORE! This L'Oreal Plumping Mascara does an equal or better job and is at least half the price.

The formula is smooth, not gloppy; plumps and lengthens, and the brush is great. I'm very pleased with this mascara.

I want to love this mascara, really I do. I've bought it twice now, thinking maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance the first time. I quite like L'Oreal mascaras and the Voluminous is among my favorite mascaras, both drug store and high end. This one has beautiful packaging and I always hear good things about it. But this mascara just doesn't cut it for me.

So that you can make an informed decision: I have moderate length lashes and quite a few of them. They're not spectacular, but they're enough to work with until they look great. What I look for in a mascara is volume without sticking my lashes together (or making spider legs), pigmentation, the ability to hold curl and lots of length. I am partial to a large traditional brush, but I have used all types of brushes with success.

Next to several other mascaras in my collection, even in the blackest black, this mascara is not as pigmented. It's almost greyish. From a distance it looks black, and it's darker than my natural lashes, but still. I want BLACK! This is not it.

There is a lot of space between the bristles of this brush, allowing my lashes to clump together, as this is thick and rather dry mascara. I can't apply more than two coats of this without the help of a clean spoolie. The thickness of the mascara tends to weigh down my lashes, resulting in drooping, not curl. Bummer. I don't have trouble with flaking or removal and this doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes. I can pair it with other mascaras (with wands that provide more definition) and it is usable. I'll finish my tube, but that's the last time I'll buy this one. Pity, because the packaging ALWAYS catches my eye. Oh well.

WHOA!!! I ran out of my favorite $40 dept. store mascara, & purchased this on a whim. I have to say..it does what my $$ mascara does, but slightly better. It's a darker black color, and it lengthens more..with more volume. For a lot less!! The only itty bitty thing is..it dries out a tad quick...but so what...for the results and the cheap price I can afford to replace it.

Maybe I got a bad tube of this, but the one I got was no good. I have a lot of experience with mascaras, all different kinds for well over a decade. But I didn't find that working with this was worth the effort.

It was a bit too dry to work with. A few swipes on one eye, then on to the other and back again quickly was too long to wait. By that time, a second coat wasn't manageable. Even if I do one eye at a time, I find that it is very difficult to get an even coat. If an even coat is achieved, my lashes still clump together. Sure, they look nice and thick, but it looks like I have about ten of them per eye.

What this might be good for is a single coat during the day, if you like a subtle, natural look. It is very subtle on me with one coat and my lashes are not especially dark. It gives me no volume or thickening whatsoever; it looks like my eyelashes, but better. The second coat, however, pales in comparison, even to other drugstore mascaras.

If you are serious about your lashes GET THIS PRODUCT!!! I absolutely LOVE this mascara. A young lady working at a local drugstore recommended this to me. I was hesitant to try something new, but I am soooo glad I did.[...] You will definitely get length,volume and definition. Apply the first coat, wait a few seconds and apply the second. Lash comb thru and you are good to go all day!!

I don't really care for this mascara. The brush is very soft and uneven, making it awkward trying to apply the mascara. It does not go on evenly and does not define or separate lashes. I was also disappointed with the amount of length it gave. After applying my lashes looked badly done and uneven. I'm going to go back to my old mascara and will most likely toss this stuff.

My lashes are definitely thicker and longer. Unfortunately, they're also clumpier. It takes a while to get the definition I want. I have to scrape the brush on the edge of the tube with each application to get an even look. It's an extra step but in the end, my lashes look great.

I have been using bare minerals mascara for a long time n recently decided it's not really giving the dramatic look I want. I like this mascara a lot. It def amps up my lashes in length and in volume. However I do have to use three coats and comb out my eyelashes after each coat. For some that is too much work. I don't mind because the results are awesome lashes! And it lasts all day!
