This product is a great lightweight moisturizer w/ light coverage. I still use a powder over the top for a little added coverage but it really is not necessary. Will be perfect especially for the summer!!! wish it was oil free though!! Because I have cystic acne and prefer products oil free. I am 42 and this product does not settle into fine lines :) very happy!

I was really hopeful for the product. I have been using one of the "original" BB creams from a japan-based company and LOVE it, but the price is a little too rich for my blood these days.

So I gave this one a try. Many l'oreal products I like very much and even prefer to expensive brands, so I had no reservations.

First, this product contains no SPF. I am not a fan of one-trick ponies. And as a BB cream is supposed to also be a light moisturizer, it makes no sense to have to put a sunscreen or a daytime moisturizer with SPF on under it. So, that's a big miss.

Second, there is the texture. Going on, it has a slightly gritty texture that makes me suspect it has those microbeads in it that don't dissolve in the environment. Just kind of weird and unpleasant. You're not going to stand there rubbing your face all day, but still...

Along with the gritty texture is a slippery feel. It doesn't feel moisturizing... it feels like silicone or something inorganic. eventually it "settles" in to the skin feeling less pronounced. it does remain feeling dewy... which I guess is a feeling some reviewers like. But it doesn't feel healthy dewy. it feels a bit artificial. after a week or so of using, it doesn't feel like it is doing anything to make my skin happier than it was before I started.

So, ignoring that - how does it look? The color does adjust by magic or something to match my skin fairly well. However, the end result lacks luster (despite the above mentioned dewy feeling)... none of the natural vibrance of my skin shows through. And there is some there! It is a little mask-y on the skin. Which could be the "excellent coverage" others are talking about, but I don't think it does the complexion any favors. Other BB creams, even moderately priced brands as this one is - so I'm not unfairly comparing it to something 3x as expensive - have a little subtle sheen to it to give you a little luster and a more youthful appearance. It also seems to dry out bits of my skin, and leave those newly flaky dry bits tinted a slightly darker color than my skin so it is nice and visible!

Overall, I think this misses the point of a BB Cream on a number of different levels. I will try the Youth Code at some point to see how it measures up, but this particular formulation from L'oreal I do no recommend.

Get something better - you're worth it!

I love this BB cream! It's light, goes on smoothly and doesn't make my face look oily. The self-adjusting formula allows you tailor the amount of coverage without looking like you are wearing a mask. Great product at a great price! So glad I tried it!

I have fair-medium skin with mild rosacea (occasional redness). On a bad day, the skin on my face will appear slightly darker than the skin on my neck and chest. This is easily remedied with a lighter foundation that matches my neck instead of my face, so I tried the "light" version of this product. The issue here is that the BB cream comes out of the tube white and adjusts to your skin tone. If you have even the slightest amount of redness in your skin, the product seems to pick up on the red tones first, turning the product a much darker shade than desired -- with an orange tone. My face became a good 2-3 shades darker than my neck (my husband and I got a good laugh out of it, at least!). While the application of the product was very smooth and easy to apply, the intense color mismatch was a definite dealbreaker. I was fortunate enough to try a sample of this product before buying the full size. If your skin has an even tone, go for it. But I would definitely recommend trying before you buy.

This product goes on white and smooth, I was a bit taken aback at first. But, it looks fantastic. I have a lot of skin flaws and this either covers or minimises them. I love this product

I ordered the medium tint, but wish I had gotten the deep. It does a nice job of making the skin look more even-toned if you don't need a full coverage.

Was skeptical but had to try this. It comes out white which concerned me but instantly matched my skin tone as I put it on. There's a rough texture, too..........also a shocker, but smooths right out. Easy, easy to use. I love the no-makeup look it gives. Very natural only better somehow!!! Not shiny at all. Love it!!!

I use this product after I have put on my moisture in the morning. I wait a couple minutes to let it dry a bit then I use my bare minerals powder.
This product really does what it says: primes, perfects, hydrates, and corrects. I have some acne scars on my cheeks along with redness. This cream really helps to even out my skin tone and makes it smooth. My makeup says on throughout the day when I use this cream. No more reapplying powder or bronzer during the day. I don't have light skin but my skin is not dark so the medium blends in perfectly to my skin tone. Wonderful product!!!
