Let me tell you, I have a crazy self tanner history (as many of us do) and a few years ago I tried L'oreal's Gradual Tanner and it turned me TANGERINE ORANGE. I swore I would stay away from L'oreal products. From then on, I became obsessed with finding the perfect self tanner (for me anyways). What I want (and many others) from a self tanner is first THE COLOR. It HAS to be natural. Second is the staying power, I exercise and play sports a lot so It has to be able to stay. And thirdly, no smell. That's just a dead giveaway. So I finally found after many drugstore self tanners & beauty shop self tanners, my favorite mainly because of the color, which was Tomas Total Tan from [@] (identical to Fake Bake). The only thing I HATED about it was that after I exercised it would come off so easily! Also, it turned my chest like a funky green color, which was not attractive. I guess it didn't react well with my sweat. So then I was on a hunt AGAIN to find a GOOD self tanner.I read so many reviews on self tanners on Youtube and sites like these. I started gravitating towards the L'oreal line. I was hearing so many positive things about it and I was like chances are, it's as good as people say because there's not that many negative reviews. So I went to Walmart, picked up the Gelee in Medium Natural Tan, and the Luminous Bronzer. I tried the Medium Natural first.First, in the bottle it looks tinted orange, but in fact it is not. Its almost a clear gel, which may be a problem for beginners, but I found it was VERY easy to rub in and apply, but it's kind of a lie when they say quick dry. But I've found ways around that such as doing it in light layers, or mixing my regualr body lotion with it. It also says color developes in an hour, I beleieve it does, but just not on ME. It takes me a few coats to get a nice bronze color. The color is FABULOUS. I found that even though its not tinted, if I apply at night and take a shower in the morning, the color looks better. Excess buildup of DHA may look a little more orange. EXFOLIATE EXFOLIATE EXFOLIATE before putting this on! A MUST! Also, you HAVE to moisturize! It will help the tan last longer and also help the color, which is a beautiful BRONZE- NO ORANGE color. It has the most brown/bronze undertones I've seen in any self tanner. The smell is almost non-existent, and really is after your first shower. I've done a whole weeks worth of two hour workouts and volleyball with this on and IT STAYED! I was SO surprised! It was GREAT! Didn't turn me any funky colors either! So overall this self tanner is GREAT! And CHEAP! And it's so easy to find because they sell it at like EVERY drugstore. BEST drugstore self tanner there is. Period. And THE BEST I'VE EVER USED! When I was standing next to all my girls, I was the same exact shade of tan as them. (a few notes: I'm not a fair-skinned girl in summer, I'm medium with golden undertones, so I can't speak for the fair-skinned, but I would try this product anyways! Also, I have yet to dry Medium Deep, but I'm pretty satisfied with this color.) Also ladies, this is VERY IMPORTANT. Do NOT use a body lotion that has Mineral Oil (Petrolum), Stearic Acid, or Triethanolamine. They do not react with DHA well (high pH levels). They WILL give you a orange glow or tint. This even applies if it's IN your self tanner. Find an all natural body lotion. You have to be so careful. My legs are currently streaked and orange colored (after using it about 4 times-I didn't want to judge prematurely). My arms look pretty good after using it- but they were tan to begin with. This also fades unevenly, so some parts of my legs, stomach, and shoulders are still tan while others are not. It makes me look like I have a skin condition. Another gripe is that it takes awhile to dry. I want a natural looking tan so I might try a spray formula-at least it's safer for my skin than laying out. Comments about L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Gelee, Medium Natural, 5 fl oz: #1 - You DO need to Exfoliate your whole body and shower... #2-I put lotion on my whole body #3 then apply the Loreal Gelee to my entire body it doesn't take alot, but you need to pay attention how you are applying it,"evenly". I put it on my Face Last after i put my moisturizer on. Wash my hands good. Then I take my hair dryer and dry my whole body. I don't put any clothes on until I dry my hair and fix it. But you do need to exfoliate with a body sponge is the key!!and also use lotion eveyday to make it last and look good. I use the Gelee once a week I am Med complextion. And I do like this product the best out of all the self Tanners. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? Cons Best Uses Comments about L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Gelee, Medium Natural, 5 fl oz: I've used a number of more expensive self-tanning products and the L'Oreal works well for me. I exfoliate in the shower, dry off well and then apply to my legs. I find that it takes about 24 hours to obtain a decent looking color. And what is also nice, is that it doesn't rub off onto my clothing. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? Cons Best Uses Comments about L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Gelee, Medium Natural, 5 fl oz: This is the best bronzer I've ever used. They seem to have improved the formula in the last couple of years. I used it for less than a week on my legs and arms and look like I've got a great tan! I recommend using this product right out of the shower after you've toweled off. I think the remaining moisture on your body helps to keep the product from streaking, as I've not had that problem at all. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? Best Uses Comments about L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Gelee, Medium Natural, 5 fl oz: This gives me the most natural color of any self-tanner. There are two problems, though: there's a weird glitter-type substance added to the cream, and the smell is really repulsive. I only use it when I am going to be alone for a couple of hours. If L'Oreal fixed these problems, it would be perfect. Was this review helpful? Yes / No - You may also flag this review 6/12/2012 Love it. Best self-tanning I've used. Pros

Comments about L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Gelee, Medium Natural, 5 fl oz: Like with all products of this kind, be careful when applying to bony areas such as knees, apply evenly, and exfoliate before. Like that it doesn't have that suntan lotion scent. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? Yes / No - You may also flag this review 4/15/2012 no streaking Pros

Comments about L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Gelee, Medium Natural, 5 fl oz: I've been using this sunless tanner for over 8 years. It's the best I've ever found, and affordable. It might be a little orange or dark on lighter skin tones, but works really well with my olive skin. Easy to apply, decent smell, dries pretty quickly. I recommend exfoliating your body before use to get the best results. Also do multiple light coats daily until you reach your desired shade, then do once or twice a week to maintain. MAKE SURE YOU WASH YOUR HANDS thourougly - or else you'll be left with orange hands which can be pretty embarrassing. Overall I've had very few problems with it, especially after you get used to using it correctly. I definitely recommend - at least to those with medium skin tones.
