That seems to be the best time to apply tanner, when your skin is still moist. It doesn't fully wash off after every shower which is good. I go to the gym several times during the week. So I like to have alittle color year round. I use it on my upper body in the winter and in the summer I apply it to my legs and feet also. I think this is the absolute BEST tanner. I feel I am a expert with this stuff. Lots of my friends alway ask me what I use. I strongly suggest to go with the DEEP color becuse even thought I am on the lighter side, it still just gives a regular tan color for a winter white skin. Not too dark and unnatural looking. This cream is easy to apply because it comes out with a bronzed color so it easy to see where you are too heavy so you can even it out. In the summer when I just get a very light suntan, that is all I need is a tiny base of real sun color and then apply this...It makes me look sooooo dark. So I hardly lay in the sun all summer because I don't need to. Of course I try not because it isn't safe also. I just love this stuff. It is sometimes hard to find the DEEP color, so that is why it easier for me to order it with Drug-Store.com. It is just easy for me than going from store to store looking for my color. I alway have a back-up tube in my closet. Aslo there is no smell with this product even after I work out. When you apply it after your shower ,that is all you need is 10 minutes for it to dry. So I wrap a towel around myself so my underarms and chest dry. I usually apply this at night after I shower., so it really has time to set in and dry. I don't like the feel of it because it feels too oily and it takes long to dry I hate the shimmer & glitter especially the fact that there's so much of it. The smell is pretty strong at first but in about 60minutes or less it completely fades away, that's a plus because with other tanners you stay with it until you shower it of. I gave it 3stars because it enhances my skin tone nicely not sickly and it was a very easy streak free application. Even though it didn't make me darker I would buy again for the glowing effect. It probably works better on lighter complexions. I am a fair complected, natural red head, and I don't tan easily. This product creates a nice, natural looking color on my face and body, and if I do get a bit of sun and then use the product, the results are great! I get compliments on my "tan" quite often. Lightly dot tan lotion directly to skin on all areas you want to tan. I don't do knees, elbows or ankles. Very little on top of feet. Wash hands with soap. Apply sun screen where needed. But this stuff actually works!! It shows a light bronze color when you apply it so you know if its even and it drys fast, plus it leaves your skin sooo soft. I would recommend this to all skin completions because as Snookie says, You can never be too dark!! The only problem i have is with my hands, they look dirty I don't know if i used to much on my hands or what so if anyone can give me some pointers i would really appreciate it!! These brushes are ecnomical, can be used over and over and don't get your hands covered with the product. Use a small brush for the face and a larger one for arms and legs. Gives a glorious even tan. Can apply daily to face and 2 to 3 times per week to arms and legs. Never orange in color, rather extremely natural looking. I use it almost year round and have been doing so for several years.
