I have light brown hair with a lot of red to it naturally (I was born a natural redhead; it darkened later in life). This was very gentle, including on my scalp- there was no burning sensation like bleaching always caused years ago. While this product certainly stripped much of the brown color out of my hair, it does NOT make my hair look like the model's on the box afterwards. It does indeed get one's hair light, but be prepared to use a cool-toned color (like one of the L'Oreal Extra Light Ash Blonde colorants) within a day or so of bleaching with this. Well, unless you like going around with an orange-ish cap of hair! This may not be true for women without a lot of red to their hair naturally or women who have light-to-medium blonde hair already. But any darker than that, and you'd better have a box of ash or at least natural blonde colorant to tone down the brassiness this leaves behind. To be clear, I left this on the full hour it allows. I have thick, wavy, chin-length layered hair and one bottle was the right amount. If my hair was much longer, two bottles definitely would've been needed. It is a challenge to get it all rinsed out even with a terrific showerhead. Rinse well, then rinse again just to be sure. My hair is healthy as a horse. I would never recommend this to someone with brittle, dry or frizzy hair because it is quite drying. I could definitely see it breaking off the ends of someone with very fragile hair. Anyone with darker than light brown hair should really go to a knowledgeable stylist to get their hair bleached the first time, IMHO.

Easy to use and covers brown hair great. Not brassy. I have been searching for years to find a great color (not straight bleach) that works to get a bright blonde without all the damage and this works! I am totally hooked.

After using ESalon's hair coloring and not getting the color I wanted, I switched to this, did it my self, and achieved EXACTLY the color I want, and I love how it makes my hair even easier to style. Gave it just enough body!! Thrilled with it and will purchase it again!

Just tried this product this evening. After becoming a blonde by accident (hair turned orange with a bad product), I had to strip out the color and then re-color. It turned out blonde. I like it! Since I have very stubborn gray in my hair becoming a blonde was the only solution, however, my roots are very dark brown and my hair grows very quickly. So, I tried Super Blonde just on my roots and all those dark roots are gone. I will probably have to color my whole head again to boost the color to a medium golden blonde but it doesn't bother me to have to do a 2-step process. I'm very happy with the end result. Since I cannot afford beauty salons, this product has made my day. Thank you L'oreal!
