I had virgin hair color before I tried this. My natural color is exactly like the picture on the box of Loreal Preference "Light Brown" shade. I achieved a very neat "coppery" color to my hair after coloring with this shade. I went from kind of a mousy brown neutral tone to a warm vibrant golden brown with a touch of copper. I really like it. It applied very easy on my thin, fine hair and washed out nicely. The conditioner that comes in the box is excellent. Very moisturizing afterwards. If you are afraid of warm golden reddish tones then this is not the color for you. Your haircolor may not turn out like the picture on the box.

Great Color! Finally found a nice light brown with a touch of red. Very happy with the result. I have received several compliments on my hair color and how natural it is.

When I was a child my hair was very blonde, and as I've gotten older it has become an auburn/gold/brown shade. There is no current color on the market, that I've used personally, that gives my hair a natural look similar to my own shade. The brown's are too brown, and the auburn's are too orange or purplish. This shade gives me the truest blend of brown, gold, and auburn-gold tones that I prefer. However, it is pretty smelly, and runs easily. Small price to pay for a natural look though in my opinion.

This is a good golor for blending grays and adding warmth to dull ashy hair. Will lighten about 1/2 a shade and will pull red tones. A good shade if you are a dark ash blonde and want to go a little darker with some gold. Will not lighten a whole lot.
Stong amonia smell. I like the liquid consistancy as opposed to gel since I have very long hair...it is easy to apply and distributes fast. No damage to my hair or scalp.

I love this color, not too dark or too light. It's not like some colors that have an inhuman red tinge to them, this is truly a natural color with natural reddish highlights to it. The product also hides my gray much better than others have and I've tried a lot of others.

This color is not the color it claims to be. It turned my hair a reddish tint and did NOT cover one grey hair. So, if you want a "surprise" color and still grey hair go ahead and use this product. One thing positive is that it gives a beautiful shine. My grey 'hairs' were shining all over the place!

I have medium to dark brown hair and wanted to go a few shades lighter. This color won a reader's choice award in Allure so I tried it. You can't tell a difference unless I am standing under bright light. The good news is it didn't damage my hair, but for dark brunettes, who want a noticeable change, get something else.

Gorgeous color! My hair is (and always has been!) naturally medium-dark blonde on the ends and light brown at the roots, and I was looking for a color that would help minimize the difference between my roots and ends without a lot of maintenance. This will give almost any shade of hair a natural-looking result. Blonde hair won't turn into a flat blob of color, and darker hair won't look cheap and bleached-blonde. Be warned, however, that if your hair has a lot of natural warm tones it may bring up too much red for your taste (which is what happened when my sister tried it; she ended up being happier with a neutral light brown). If you do try it, wait until you stand in direct sunlight; the compliments will start flooding in! :)
