This shampoo brought my hair back to life. You don't need to use a huge amount. It has a lovely, soft scent that I've never had a problem with it lingering or being overpowering. (I also use the conditioner: a great pairing.) I'm in my 50's, have colored my hair for years, have gone through a bad thyroid disorder, and this is the first shampoo I've used that actually makes my hair look like it did when I was in my 20s and 30s. Rinse well and you won't have any problems with this shampoo or conditioner weighing your hair down or making it oily.

I used to love loreal products hair & makeup & facial creams however they have added this ingredient Butylphenyl Methylpropional which is what I am highly allergic to- it is used for fragrance, and I had some severe reactions on my skin due to it. I had no clue for a year it looked like I had rosecea and come to find out that ingredient burned my skin due to how severely allergic I am to it. After using Loreal products and even various perfumes with it in it I picked up my allergy... to some one who doesnt have this allergy the Loreal products are pretty good. To me that ingredient & animal testing has made me find other products that work MUCH better for me & my skin!.

First off, my hair is protein sensitive. It took me awhile and lots (and lots) of expensive products that only made it worse because they were packed with protein! This is already bringing my hair back to life. (Too much protein is bad for hair, and while unhealthy hair needs it, healthy hair may not, and some hair doesn't tolerate it at all. I don't know why this is. So if all those must have products only seem to make your hair worse, check the ingredients. Amines, silk proteins, etc. might be the cause.) My hair is colored (dark brown, temporary), and this really doesn't draw the color out (rinse in warm, not hot h20). My scalp can sometimes get oily, and when it does, I scalp shampoo twice. The first time doesn't lather much, and if that's the case, you made need to do it a second time. I like to alternate shampoos, as well (great for your hair, and I like choice for what my hair wants), but I've used this one solely except once this week, and it's great (I shampoo daily)! I'll repurchase. I also use the coniditioner. Love it for the results, but the smell is just ok. Not bad, but I'd much prefer something I like more, so it loses a star. Loreal, change the scent? More like nutrigloss? Other recommendations: free&clear (doesn't touch your color at all, and protein free, not drying but not moisturizing), and herbal essences hello hydration (love the smell, gentle and lathers well, but does take its toll on hair color).

Okay smell my boyfriend liked it, I personally thought it was too harsh. I bought this to help repair my hair after a coloring mishap that resulted in having to do 3 dye jobs. My scalp was not itchy until THE day I started using this shampoo. I've stopped using it and my hair is slowly regaining life. If this shampoo had lather I'd say it was worth retrial but it doesn't even offer that.

This shampoo is really good to my hair. I have really thick hair thats really frizzy and sometimes dry because I dye it so much. This shampoo really smoothes it out. I have recently dyed my hair red, and bought this product about two weeks ago. It has really kept my color from fading to orange, like normal shampoos do. It works for me, so I give it 4 stars.

I was a loyal customer to the old Color-Vive formula, but HATE the new Vive. Smells "bubble-gummy" AWFUL, and is HARSH on your hair. Really mad at L'Oreal.

I love this shampoo; it is so much better than the old formulation. It makes my hair so soft that I almost don't need conditioner, but not so soft that it weighs it down.

Several years ago, after following the recommendation from my sister, "the-stylist-at-the-fancy-NY-salon", I became a big fan of the "old" formulation. I used it on my dyed red hair (red being the least permanent of all the hair dyes). It worked better than most of the exotic, over-priced, over-hyped brands. But I HATE the new product. Although it seems to perform well, I can't stand the fruity, perfumey scent. It lingers for hours, and conflicts with whatever scent I choose to wear.

Just o.k., not really that great for color-treated hair, and I use the one for dry color-treated hair.
Garnier is much, much better.
Of course the salon I go to has all Matrix or Aquage products, and they are really great.
Tresseme is very good for color-treated hair. Personally I hated Dove, it stripped the color out of my hair, and also Pantene, that was worse.
I do like Garnier, thought of trying Herbal Essences. I have long naturally curly hair with permanent color, so I like it to be soft and natural, but not frizzy.
I do know which shampoos work and which don't, and this is one I HATE...
