I've finally found a routine that works for me. I wear Rimmel's Lash Accelerator mascara and then one coat of this. This helps to separate every one of those long lashes and makes them almost multiply while holding curl and keeping my lashes soft. I love the carbon black color too. For nights out I pair this with the Telescopic lengthening in carbon black from L'Oreal to get a really dramatic look. I do have to use a comb because it can get a little clumpy and it does flake after a while, but overall it's fantastic!

I've been using Voluminous mascaras for over 10 years now. I've tried others during that time but always come back to Voluminous. This carbon black is my most favorite of all time. It is easy to apply, doesn't clump on my lashes, and it's easy to remove. Also I've never had problems with this product flaking. This product makes my short, thin, blonde lashes look thick and dark. This is a great product. I definitely recommend.

This mascara looks great and goes on smoothly BUT it quickly goes downhill from there. It smudges with no touching at all. I can apply mascara,get in my car and drive to work & by the time I am at my desk I have black smudges on my eyelids! Also has a tendency to flake. Very difficult to remove ALL the mascara from your lashes. I clean my face every night and most morning I wake up looking like a raccoon from mascara that is not removed fully. The tube went in the trash this evening. Back to Definicils!!

I like how it does add volume and length. It looks great but after only a few hours it ends up under my eyes...not a cute look. If this stuff stays put on your lashes then it it'll a great mascara.

For the past 2 years I haven't been able to find the L'Oreal mascara that was JUST mascara and not this super heavy clumping lumping stuff! L'Oreal let me down. For 20 years I have used their product then when the "trend" went to super long, super heavy super ugly came in, all the local retailers went to that and left the natural looking mascara off they product lines. I was so happy to find this simple product online here at drugstore.com THANK YOU!

I've been a fan and user of L'Oreal Voluminous original for about 12 years now. My only problem with the original formula was that it dried out quickly and tended to flake, flake, flake. I am SUPER impressed with the Carbon Black! It is rich and luxurious on your lashes--makes them look plump, separated, and perfectly coated. (As with any thickening mascara, you have to scrap some of the extra back into the tube--which any makeup user worth their salt knows.) I also find that I can apply 2 coats without my lashes drying in between. I love, love, love this mascara! It is long wearing, looks fantastic, and doesn't irritate my sensitve eyes. I have eye allergies and tend to rub my eyes throughout the day--this mascara really holds up. My one makeup addiction is thickening mascara--I have tried them all, from $50 a tube to $5. This is by far the best thickening mascara I've come across.

My favorite for the past couple of years. I don't have a problem with clumping. Might have to scrape off the excess product sometimes, especially with a new tube--but that's my experience with all mascaras. I think it thickens well, & I love this carbon black version--it's the blackest black.

I love the original voluminous in blackest black, so I thought this would be even better and more dramatic. To my disappointment, it was neither dramatic not better than the original.The applicator is covered in globs of mascara. It's so gunky and goopy that with even one swipe onto the lashes, it starts clumping. And don't even get me started on how it is on the lower lashes! Overall, I would not repurchase the carbon black version ever again. I think I'll stick with the original in blackest black. Nice try, L'Oreal, but you bombed with this one.
