I have faithfully used this mascara since 1995. It is pretty amazing and has performed consistently through so many years. It is my daily wear mascara, and always provides excellent volume. Application provides a thick initial coat, which darkens everything. If you want to layer, I recommend combing with an eyelash comb, waiting then layer again. You could build with this and not experience flaking, but you wouldnt need to. Lasts all day without flaking or smudging, and comes of easily with a cleanser. I will always buy this mascara as long as the formula remains the same and the value stays. I have used department store brands (Bobbi Brown, Le Guerlain, Fiberwig, Etc.) and they are nice too but I always come back to this as an HG standalone product.

I have been trying to find a cheaper alternative to my favorite mascara ever: Clinique High Impact Curling Mascara. I kept reading about L'Oreal's Voluminous mascara and decided to give it a try. It was dry from my first use. I don't think I've ever used a mascara that is so dry. If you layer multiple coats on, your lashes look fuller, but they also look flaky. The mascara also runs by the end of the day and is hard to wash off. Sometimes, it's worth spending a little more for a higher end product and this is one of those cases.

I've been using this mascara for years, and I it's the best I've ever used. It does not run or come off easily, but it washes off easily with soap.

DO NOT BUY THIS MASCARA. it comes out of the tube completely glopped up on the wand and is impossible to apply without leaving HUGE clumps. I can't attest to how it wears because i wasn't actually able to wear it -- the hole in the tube is much bigger than the brush on the wand. what a mess. i finally threw it out last night and bought a different brand instead.

This and Lash Blast are my favorites. This Loreal product has been a tried and true long time friend. I use the black brown with the curved brush. Will continue to use this product and recommend to friends and family.
