You can use this in place of your daytime foundation with a concealer. It stays on and blends well.

I wrote a review ealier on the other L'oreal BB cream. Was still looking for a less expensive alternative to my beloved japanese-brand very expensive BB cream.

This isn't it.

I am a Medium in most cosmetics where it is a choice. This medium is rather orangey on me.

I didn't notice much about the smell other users are commenting on. I am usually pretty sensitive to fragrance, but the fragrance of this product I would accept if it worked well for me otherwise.

It doesn't feel great on. It sits in the texture of your skin, magnifying the texture and making it look like imperfections. I'm in my 30s and this prodcut makes my skin actually look CREPE-Y on my cheeks and it is so not.

So, bad color. Makes you look OLDER. texture is meh.

I can't recommend a drugstore level BB cream yet so I can't tell you what to buy instead, but I would suggest you NOT buy this one.

My tube will be living in my gym bag. It has an SPF in it so it will be an okay product to throw on post-workout. I don't mind looking a bit like an oompa-loompa for the short walk home in the sun.

I love the product. I don't like the fragrance. It smells really bad. My friend had this product and she look good and I could not figure out why she had an old lady smell. This product is wonderful. Make it without the fragrance.

This product is amazing. Do not use a lot of under makeup moisturizers or you will end up too oily. This goes on kind of strange but just keep on as if it was any foundaton and after about 30 minutes you will be shocked at how beautiful and natural it looks. Makes my skin look absolutely awesome and I am 63 yrs old.

So far, L'Oreal Youth Code BB Cream Illuminator performs almost as well as the much-higher priced Beauty Balms I've used in the past. At less than 1/3 the price, that is a HUGE benefit! The only noticeable difference is that this one is a bit greasier and doesn't absorb into the skin 100%. This is remedied with just a dusting of finishing powder. The L'Oreal Youth Code leaves a nataural looking finish, lasts all day, smooths my skin and conceals fine lines. I don't know the long-term anti-aging benefits yet, since I've only been using it for a couple of weeks.

I purchased this product for a friend with oily/combination skin that is prone to breakouts and am writing this review on her behalf. She loved it! Her favorite feature of the product was that it felt much lighter than traditional foundations and she is now using the product in lieu of a foundation.

For the past few weeks, I have been on a quest to find "the" perfect BB Cream!

After experimenting with several brands, I have come to the conclusion that it may be beneficial to have 2-3 different products on hand and alternate depending upon the occasion, the condition of my complexion (I have oily skin and am prone to blemishes), the time of day, etc. Here are the products I've tried, in the order of my preference:

1. L'Oreal Magic BB Cream - A bit more opaque than the other BB Creams, provides coverage that is almost comparative to a foundation yet fairly natural looking. I use it for special occasions and evenings out. Very luminous, makes my skin incredibly smooth. Love it!

2. L'Oreal Youth Code BB Cream - Lighter than the Magic, but still provides good moderate coverage. Great for daily use when I don't feel like using the "heavier" version. The light fragrance does not bother me one bit. A little pricier than the other BB Creams mentioned here, but totally worth it!

3. CoverGirl BB Cream - Light to moderate coverage. I will use this in lieu of Youth Code on my "off" days, running errands, hanging out at home, etc. This less-expensive substitute helps me conserve the other product.

4. Maybelline BBC Cream - Very similar to CoverGirl, but it doesn't blend as well with my skintone.

5. Garnier BB Cream - VERY greasy; just sat there on my skin like a hot, shiny mess. Did not care for it at all!

** Bottom line: Youth Code is a winner in my book! I'm glad I gave it a chance. **

I have used tinted moisturizers for over 10 years. I have used many different brands, and paid from $3 to $30. While this is marketed as a BB cream, for my money, it's a really well done tinted moisturizer. I just purchased my second tube. I work in a very dry forced air environment which absolutely robs my skin of moisture, and L'Oreal BB Cream keeps my skin hydrated and looking "fresh" all day. I have a light complexion with freckles and tend to be sensitive; I've had no adverse reaction to this product thus far. I've had no acne breakouts using this product. I find a very small amount goes a long way, and I apply with my fingertips. I also use concealer, and I finish with mineral veil. I feel this gives me enough coverage (at age 42 with rather average skin). I'm quite fair this time of year, and the fair shade suits me nicely. I doubt I will use this product in summer, when my skin is darker and oilier.
