I depended on Lubriderm fragrance free lotion for years, until Johnson and Johnson bought the product and changed the formula. They changed the ingredients and now it actually irritates my skin. I spoke with a representative and did receive a refund for the bottle I had purchased, but they are unwilling to return to the original formula. Now I am in search of a new brand that equals the former Lubriderm line in quality and effectiveness.

I have been using Lubriderm for over 30 years and am extremely disappointed by the New Formula (2009). I have dry skin all year and the old formula (pre-2009) was about the only lotion that was effective. Thanks to the new formula I have been shopping around and have found that the Neutrogena Body Wrap product is very good and comparable to the old formula but slightly more expensive. Lubriderm has lost a customer with me but unfortunately, Neutrogena is a J&J product so I have not been able to leave the "Family".

For those who dislike Lubriderm's new 2009 formula with glycerin, CVS Daily Moisture Lotion is a pretty good knock-off of the 2006 Fragrance Free Lubriderm lotion. The list of ingredients is almost the same. The first few ingredients are water, mineral oil, petrolatum, sorbitol, stearic acid, lanolin, lanolin alcohol, cetyl alcohol, and glyceryl stearate.

Die-hard users of Lubriderm such as myself know that the pre-2009 formula is just a really effective lotion. The moisturizers plump up your skin and the oil and grease create a protective layer on your skin that keeps the moisture in. The more you use, the better it works. It's also great for compounding medications.

I buy this lotion all the time both for myself and my 92-year-old mother, it's really great for my legs and elbows. It feels lovely, not too thick or too thin. Best of all, there is no perfume to give me sinus headaches.
