• Press the power button to turn on the thermometer.
• Press the Scan button and hold, aim at forehead, then move the thermometer forward and backward, until you hear a "continuous beeping sound" accompanied by a flashing LED light/
• Release the Scan button and a short beep will be heard.
• Temperature will display on the LCD.

Surface Temperature Mode:

• Press the power button to turn on the thermometer.
• Press and hold the Scan button while aiming at the desired object.
• Release the Scan button and the temperature will display on the LCD.
