Comments about Lunette Menstrual Cup, Size 2, Clear, 1 ea:

A friend said I MUST switch from tampons to a menstrual cup, and she was "evangelizing" to all of her female friends and coworkers about the cup because it was vastly better than tampons. I chose this cup because I have rather heavy flow the first few days of my period. Unfortunately, even though I installed the cup correctly every time, I still had to wear my Luna Pads to catch the leakage, especially while sleeping, as the cup seemed to overflow very easily while lying down. Much more fiddling is required to insert and remove the cup that even applicator-free tampons, and the squishy sucking sounds that are made during insertion and removal mean there is no way I could do anything with it in a public restroom (like at work). The stem is so uncomfortable no matter how I adjust it, but I will take another reviewer's advice and remove the stem (it really doesn't serve a function since you remove the cup by pinching the base that's above the stem). I'm also pretty sure it made my cramps worse, because I've never had cramps three days in a row like I did with the cup. I think I'll give it another try without the stem; at the very least, it's great to have on hand in case I forget to restock on tampons, or to keep it in my bag for emergencies (it comes in a cute little satin drawstring bag). I had hoped it would get rid of my need to wear pads as backup, but that turned out to not be the case at all. I can't keep buying different brands of cups until I find the best one, because these things aren't exactly cheap!

Comments about Lunette Menstrual Cup, Size 2, Clear, 1 ea:

At first it takes practice to put in and take out. Once you can figure that part out, it's so much easier than pads or tampons. You can go longer between changes than pads or tampons too! One tip that I read online before buying the Lunette cup was to cut or trim the stem down and I do recommend doing so. I love that it's so much safer than tampons and much more comfortable than pads.

I highly recommend switching over to using the cup!! If you are still unsure, I say try it and you won't go back to tampons!!

Plus now I can quit clogging up my toilet with tampons!

Comments about Lunette Menstrual Cup, Size 2, Clear, 1 ea:

I was very happy that drugstore.com had a menstrual cup that I could try out and purchase along with the items I was already planning to buy. This was my first try with a menstrual cup, and I looked at a lot of information online and decided that the Lunette might work well for me. Unfortunately, it's too long and sits far too low for me. I didn't realize that I have a low cervix and even turned inside out, the bottom of this sticks out. I'm now using a much smaller MeLuna cup which I love. I thought I needed the larger size of the Lunette because I have heavy flow, but because of how the cups work, it's really not as much as I'd imagined. I definitely recommend menstrual cups, and the Lunette seems great, but just make sure you have an idea of what size you need and don't just go in blindly because it's a lot of money if it's not going to work for you.

Comments about Lunette Menstrual Cup, Size 2, Clear, 1 ea:

I *adore* this product. I'm sad that it's taken me so long to find it! Ladies, if you're on the fence about trying a menstrual cup, I hope my review can convince you. I had been flirting with the idea of switching to a cup for months. I'm so glad I finally did it! I chose the Lunette because of the overwhelming rave reviews. The shape and size also seemed better for a petite, 30-something mom like me.

          My final reasons for switching:

          1. To save money. *Everything* is so expensive right now. And, let's face it, things won't be improving anytime soon. Those monthly pad and tampon purchases add up! Now's the time to trim unnecessary costs from our lives!

          2. Dyes and perfumes in pads. Why, oh why, do pad manufacturers think we need blue pads?? Or, for that matter, bleached-white ones? Whatever dye they now use, I find that it irritates my skin. (I suddenly had the same problem with laundry detergent...). Exposing your nether regions to perfumes isn't such a good idea either. I'd love to buy the dye/bleach/perfume free sanitary products, but they cost a fortune!

          Benefits of using Lunette:

          1. *Convenience!!* It's one product. One little cup in a cute carrying bag. No more buying a dozen varieties of pads and tampons for Heavy days, medium days, light days, overnights, traveling, etc, etc, etc.... No more having to pack a whole suitcase or purse full of sanitary products. Plus, you only have to empty it a couple of times a day, even on your heaviest days! Compare that to changing a pad or tampon every two hours.

          2. Cleanliness. Pads are gross and messy, and they make you sweat. Tampons leak. Both produce odors. Both sit around in your trash can. With the Lunette, everything stays contained until you flush it down the toilet. I'm no environmentalist, but less trash is never a bad thing, right?

          3. Comfort. After you practice a few times and get the positioning correct, you can't feel the Lunette at all. No more "wet diaper" pad feel. No more drying out from tampons. No more worrying about overnight leaking!

          4. It's a One-Time Purchase. No more hoping for sales and coupons. No more shopping for pads and tampons. No more starting your period and discovering you're out of something. This gem will last you years if you take good care of it!

          5. Waiting for Your Period just got easier. Since Lunette doesn't absorb, you can start wearing it before your period starts. No more wearing a pad around for days in anticipation for the monthly event. No more unpleasant surprises!

          Some tips:

          1. Practice with it before your period starts. Use a couple different folding techniques to see which one works best for you. There are excellent instructional videos on youtube.

          2. Turn the cup inside-out if the stem bothers you, which it did me. I was afraid to cut the cup or compromise it in any way, but turning it inside out works perfectly!

          3. Only buy from official sellers! On Lunette's website, they warn of Chinese knock-offs entering our market, especially on auction websites. You don't want to end up with a cup of questionable quality. Check the website for official sellers (drugstore.com is listed there, btw).

Comments about Lunette Menstrual Cup, Size 2, Clear, 1 ea:

After one persuasive review here, I bought the size 2 Lunette. I ended up trimming the stem back by about half the length 'cause it rubbed my nether regions a bit. But just let me say how much I love it!
It does take about 6 or 8 insertions and removals to really get the hang of it, but I can pull it down right from the bottom by pinching it a bit, it breaks the vacuum and pulls out without spilling.
No worrying about leaking! I leave it in usually about 8 hours at a time, without emptying it and washing it, but it's definitely nice to know that I can go over 8 hours (and have) without worrying. It was nowhere near full even on my heaviest day.
I found it was comfortable on any day of my cycle. I even put it in when the calendar said I was due for AF, yet she didn't arrive that day. But the security of having that coverage was nice. Nothing worse than getting THAT surprise when you're not prepared. I find that my cramps are much less severe.
I love that you can go to the restroom without having to either change your tampon or hold the string out of the spray zone. You can wipe just like you normally do.
I swam in a pool with it in. I've exercised with it. All stayed where it was supposed to. Love it love it. wish I had started using it like 10 years ago.

I'm so happy I got the nerve up to try it. I don't have to worry about a thing at work. I did need to trim the stem, but that was not complicated. I even talked my sister into getting one for herself.

Comments about Lunette Menstrual Cup, Size 2, Clear, 1 ea:

I've used the Keeper, Diva and now the Lunette menstrual cups. So, I know how to use them. I bought the Lunette to replace a well worn Diva Cup (7+ years old) after reading reviews that some women preferred the Lunette over the Diva. I'm attempting to get Drugstore.com to take back my Lunette so I can replace it with another Diva cup because I can't really afford to be out the money.

The lunette cup was easier to insert and I liked the solid tab instead of the Diva's harder tab which, with the hollow center, sometimes traps fluid. The Lunette popped open no problem, but it leaked slowly around the edges--even on light days. It's like it's not trapping all the fluid. I know I'm wearing it properly.

I had absolutely no leakage with the Diva, to the point where I would sleep on white flannel sheets on my period. I've done three extra loads this week thanks to the Lunette. (Yes, it's the right size).

I think menstrual cups are wonderful and very cost effective. Once you learn how to use them, they are no more messy than using a tampon.

I had really high hopes for the Lunette. I just hope I can get a new Diva before my next cycle.

Comments about Lunette Menstrual Cup, Size 2, Clear, 1 ea:

I love this! I'm a medium to heavy flow. Menstrual cups have solved my sleeping problem during my cycle. I used to leak in the middle of the night using a tampon AND pad combined. I would also have to sleep on my stomach the whole night, which was uncomfortable.

Menstrual cups are great! Especially this one. It's stiffer than the diva cup, so it pops open easier. It's easy to use once you get the hang of it and once it's in, I can't feel it at all. I can go to work and not have to worry about changing anything or checking for leaking in the bathroom. I can sleep the entire night in whatever position I feel like. Pads and tampons? I haven't had to buy them in over a year. DEFINITELY recommend this product!
