I have gotten him to compromise and turn his subwoofer down, but I can still hear some residuals and it was preventing me from falling asleep. I tried these ear plugs and they make a huge difference. The thing about these compared to cotton balls or foam is that these have a stickiness to them and when properly used they form a seal around your ear and really block most sounds. There are some frequencies you will still hear (although lighter) but these are a must for someone who needs help falling asleep in a noisy place. I guess the only con is that these are temporary - once they lose their stickiness (maybe 5 days or so depending on how much you wore them) you need to get a new pair. Another thing is that I find them uncomfortable if I lay on my side, so I normally start the night out laying on my back with these in my ears for a peaceful night's rest! He snores like 5 bulldozers all together right next to me at night, and I guess that's why this thing doesn't work. I would continue purchasing these, though. It's better than having nothing, anyway. They are the only ones that work for me, as all the others fall out of my ears. They block sound better than any others I have used, but I can still hear the alarm when it goes off. I finally decided to buy some earplugs and decided to try these. They WORKED :) I didn't even hear the alarm, he had to wake me up. The only downside is I sleep on my side and they were a bit uncomfortable, but I can get used to it, definitely slept better with that issue than hearing the snoring. Comments about Mack's Pillow Soft Silicone Earplugs, Clear, Value Pack, 6 pair: Best tip *EVER* I read online about this silicone putty is that you can break them up to use instead of braces wax if your orthodontic brackets are shredding the inside of your cheek or lip. OMG, so much cheaper and easier to get than looking for orthodontic silicone stuff. Reusable, stays on better than wax, hypoallergenic and harmless if you swallow any, does not discolor like wax does. Awesome! Comments about Mack's Pillow Soft Silicone Earplugs, Clear, Value Pack, 6 pair: I use these everyday,my boyfriend is a loud snorer and I was never able to fully sleep more than 10 minutes at a time because the snoring would get so loud and wake me up, now I am able to use these earplugs and get a full night sleep and sleep soundly without waking. Each box comes with several pairs and each pair lasts about 5 uses, after 5 uses the "stickiness" wears off and they don't keep the seal in your ear to keep the noise out. The only bad thing is that there is a big moisture buildup in your ear so i recommend dry qtips each morning when you take them out so you don't build up moisture and then follow with hydrogen peroxide soaked qtip to prevent bacteria buildup Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend (0 of 1 customers found this review helpful) Was this review helpful? They are also the strongest I've found - they don't block my husband's snoring completely but enough so that I can get to sleep. The only thing I don't like about them is that they can pull my hair out because they're sticky and they also attract lint and other stuff.
