I use them every night to drown out my husband's snoring and my teen-age son's midnight raids of the kitchen directly below my bedroom. Yet, I can still hear my alarm clock in the morning. I also use them on airplanes if I'm not watching a movie or listening to my ipod. VS Most Liked Negative Review Not Slim Enough I thought these were the best earplugs at first. You see I use to use the original ones and they were too big and I got tinnitus from them. I almost lost my hearing till I found these. I do cut them to reduce pressure. I use these for sleeping. If I don't wear them I'm guaranteed wake up from my loud stepmom and her cats! Anyways after using these for months I now notice there still not slim enough. I can feel the pressure and my tinnitus has gotten worse. Even scarier is I have vertigo now! I'm not sure if its from the earplugs yet. But I'm going to try the womens one. Hopefully they are smaller and more comfortable for long periods of use. So I say if your going to use these for short term use there way better than the normal sized ones!! but if your like me and plan on using them everyday for years they still cause too much pressure even when you cut them. And these are suppose to be for kids yet I'm 26 male! And I looked everywhere for baby sized foam earplugs but I don't think they make them. Hopefully the womens ones will be better. Otherwise Macks needs to come out with some baby or tiny ones that don't cause pressure! Cons Best Uses Comments about Mack's SafeSound Slim Fit Soft Foam Earplugs,Small, 10 pair: I use these earplugs when I go out of town and share a hotel room with those who snore quite loudly, making it impossible for me to sleep. Last time I used these I was in a hotel room with 3 other adults who had a whole chorus of snores going on. With the earplugs in I didn't hear anything. Most earplugs are too big and instantly hurt my ears. I've tried the dreamgirl earplugs and they even hurt my ears. After a whole night of having these in they made one of my ears a little bit sore, but the other ear felt fine. If only they made these same earplugs the teeniest bit smaller then they'd be perfect. They are still close to perfect though.. the best I've found, at least! Also, they were very easy to put in and they stayed in. FYI I am a 28 year old female who apparently has exceptionally small ear canals. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? I tried these and they fit better and are more comfortable, but they do not block out noise quite as well. They work, but not perfectly - I can still hear fairly loud noises. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? Yes / No - You may also flag this review 5/15/2010 Fits but still lets in noise Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about Mack's SafeSound Slim Fit Soft Foam Earplugs,Small, 10 pair: I bought these because I live in an older apartment building and I'm sick and tired of hearing my neighbors stomping around on the hardwood and talking all hours of the night. I have small ear canals and most ear plugs are too uncomfortable, but these felt much better in my ears. It filtered out talking noise, but I could still hear the thuds and thumps. Comments about Mack's SafeSound Slim Fit Soft Foam Earplugs,Small, 10 pair: with a snoring husband i *must* wear ear plugs to fall asleep. these are much softer and squish more comfortably into my small sensitive ears. they are comfortable enough for almost daily use. after a week straight my ears do start to hurt a little, but a night off and it feels better quickly. these are the best earplugs by far i have found for my use.
