I will admit that when I first opened and inspected the mask I was disappointed that the primary construction of the mask was cardboard. Having used numerous high end masks, I couldn't imagine this one to be effective. I was wrong. The padding around the lower portion of the mask serves to both balance the mask on your face and eliminate light entering from that area. The balance also insures that no light enters from the top or sides. The mask is comfortable and effective. I love it. VS Most Liked Negative Review Not a good sleep mask I've had lots of sleep masks as I used to be a night worker and thus slept during the day. This one is too stiff and doesn't keep out the light. I've used many different eye shades and they all let in light. Service and delivery comments: Delivery was prompt, arrived in perfect condition.

The bands eventually break down and you need to replace the mask. But I really like the mask portion that shuts out light really well and does not press on your eyes making it very comfortable. A simple soft black covering for the eyes with one elastic strap is the most comfortable and sufficiient. I found this mask too be uncomfortable and painful for my purpose.
