Right out of the gate this is the best invention ever! The shaver is in a folded position in the package, but once you get it out it opens to a good open angle that reaches your back suprisingly without straining and i am not the most flexible guy. You get the most of its handle by leaving it short for the shoulders and upper back.

For the tough middle and lower spots, you have to slide it out to a longer length. This is the awesome part because there was never away for me to contort my body to reach these areas before.

Powers through the hair fairly easily except when it is reall long like the first time. You have to go slower with the long becausee you don't want any pulling. Once it is short and youve done it before and I do it weekly to kjeep up with it and sometimes last minute if Im going out or going to wear my tank top to the gym.

To summarize - awesome and you won't remember what it was like having back hair again.

I like many others wasn't sure about buying this and spending 40 bucks for it. I got it today and all I can say is WOW! My back feels great, the hair is gone, my shirt feels better on my back and I feel better. I am thrilled I can go to the pool and not have people staring at my back. If you're on the fence - order it, the money is well spent and you'll be pleased at how great your back feels.

This is product is very disappointing. Though the manufacturer has placed a "135-degree angle" of the blades. The blades at the end of this 135-degree angle are perpendicular to the skin. Also, the fold-out design is flimsy. The thing wants to close on its own while in use, and I've used it once -- straight from the box. The constrcution is cheap plastic, and the very first time taking the battery door off, the battery door broke. This is genuinely the worst product I have used in some years now. This is very dispaoointing. I don't know why it has taken so long and is still takign so long for a product to come out that does what this one is intended to do. And one last thing, the blades, though the moev and move fast, dont even cut my hair no matter how I use it.

I dont usually write reviews for anything but after reading mixed reviews of the mangroomer (back version) and ordering it I felt that I should add my results to the mix.
First of all, the hair on my back is light to moderate so its not overly heavy or thick by any means, but the mangroomer actually shaved/clipped all of it off neatly and quickly. A lot of people have complained about the red marks it leaves on the skin, but I think thats just because your technique needs improvement. I used short strokes sometimes going back and forth and not pressing down too hard onto my skin when I could help it. After my first time I did have a couple red lines on my back but really because I misjudged an angle or position and I dug the clipper head into my skin harder than I should have. It took me 12 minutes to clear the back hair off completely in just the first attempt.
The great thing about this clipper is that I have used it successfully on my shoulders and the heavier hair on the insides of my thighs as well as my back. Its easy and fast. The only places Id be concerned about guys are the privates and, even though it did an OK job, it still managed to nick a spot in a delicate place because its a bit more heavy duty than you need for the manparts. Id stick with a razor or less intrusive electric product.
One reason I shave is because I am a bodybuilder and I need the muscles unobstructed by hair. I used to have to pay for unpleasant waxing or beg a friend to shave my back. The mangroomer has completely freed me from any of that fuss and now all it takes is a few minutes every couple weeks to get my back smooth and clear of unwanted hair.
Overall Id have to give this thing a big thumbs up and considering its price is less than one waxing session Id recommend it to any guy to at least give it a try. (Just go slow and use a mirror, especially the first time)

once i saw this product on drugstore it was a no brainer - buy it. back hair is the worst and this is the easiest fix for it. this is the second mangroomer i am buying to keep at my lake house and use before a few days on the boat.

shaver can be made very long and works well even if you are tall - I'm 6'5" also does a good job on the shoulders.

Bought the backshaver for this summer and tired of being embarrassed of my back hair. The first time took some time to get used to and mow the hair down - but now it only takes a few minutes once a week. You can get totally smooth and no one will even know you have back hair if you take your time and go over the heavy areas a few times to be sure to get every last hair. Beach bound baby!!!!!!!
