This is a dream come true . Puts me to sleep within minutes ! I have bought one for each of my children since they have always gone to sleep with a fan , this is a fantastic alternative . Much more Healthy for those with sinus issues !

I am a light sleeper and I have slept with a fan or an electronic air filter by my bed for years, but the air from the fans always bothered me. I had tried white noise machines before, but the noise would wake me up because it was not constant. I've had this Marpac now for about 2 years and I love it. Usually the lower speed is sufficient for masking barking dogs, leaf blowers, and lawn mowers, but I sometimes have to use the higher speed on the nights before a garbage pickup. This fan is fully adjustable to many different sound levels just by rotating the top of the machine. Another big advantage to this unit is its portability. If fits in my small travel bag and adds very little weight. I'm ordering a second one today because the original unit has now begun to have noticeable changes in speed once in a while and I'm afraid that it might be nearing the end of its life span and it has become totally necessary to sleeping.

Great unit. Excited about being able to use it for travel. Need noise to sleep so going away is always difficult- need to pack a fan. This machine is compact and not heavy. Has 2 settings for sound volume, but even the low setting is loud enough. Love it.

This is my second machine only because I left the first one in Hawaii with my mother. I just moved into a new upstairs apartment. It's a pretty quite place however lets face it, its an apartment and sometimes we hear things, whatever they may be. This machine allows me to blockout everthing. I get a GREAT night of sleep which means I'm alert AND happy the next day. Now its does take some getting use to so I would try it on a Friday night and by Sunday you'll be as satisfied as I am with the Marpac.

This little machine packs quite a punch. The many adjustments to the level of white noise produced makes this the only unit you'll ever need. The long cord allows unit to be placed exactly where you want it, even outside your office door, if needed.

Delivery was prompt and unit arrived on time in good condition. Will definitely reorder from drugstore.com in the future.

My wife and I live next to a highway. We had previously been running a box fan at night to provide enough white noise to sleep, but this drew more power and took up more floor space than necessary.

After research, I decided on the Marpac/Dohm noise generator. It was a little pricey, but all the reviews swore by it. When it arrived, it was smaller than we expected, but boy, it works like a champ! The noise is full and even, and we slept great. There is not quite as much variability to the volume and tone controls provided, but we found we didn't need them.
