I previously wrote a review on this product and I do not know how to edit it. I still love this product but wanted to correct one misstatement I made. This product DOES have a strong smell. It is a very fruity smell and it is pleasant and it disappears within a minute of application (for me), but it is a quite strong smell..and I wanted to make sure to correct my previous review since it was inaccurate and some people are sensitive to strong scents.

I still love this product--wearing it today.. as I said earlier - the color is similar to Revlon's Primrose, but that lipstick is creamy and this has more of a satin/matte finish, which is somewhat drying.. (but it is a long-lasting lipstick so that's to be expected).

I love this lip product. I am surprised there isn't more buzz about it. The color is opaque. It is long lasting. Very faint smell, if any. And it does not taste like anything to me.

I saw a previous review where the reviewer said the Perpetual Peony was "pearly", which I disagree with. I am extremely cautious when I buy products, because I do NOT like pearly/shimmery/glittery finishes for my lipstick. This does NOT have any of that.

When you first apply it, it goes on with a slight sheen (not a pearly/shimmer though) -- after about 10 minutes.. It dries to the lips, but it is not too drying (like the Revlon Liquid Lip) -- it still has some moisture to it but not much. This might be a drawback for a lot of people, but I like this effect since it really is unavoidable for a "long wear" lip product (at least a truly functioning long wear). So if you don't like that type of lip product -- this might not be for you.

This lipstick lasted for hours upon hours, not 14 hours, but I got a solid 6 hours out of it --which is good enough for me, since I wear a lot of light colors..which tend to disappear quickly.

The actual color of the lipstick reminds me of my all time favorite Revlon lipstick -- in Primrose. The finish is completely different though. Primrose is very creamy and this is not.

I gave it 5 stars and have already purchased a 2nd tube as a backup.

It doesn't last 14 hours, but it's definitely longer than regular lipstick. Of course, the trade off for long-lasting seems to be dryness which this definitely causes.

The worst part for me though was the color. It's this horrible pearly light pink color that doesn't look natural or compliment me at all. It might be different for someone else, but I'm pretty fair and this made me look like a 1980s flashback. Not flattering.
