I think that the regular Volum'Express mascara in the navy blue tube is a pretty good value for the money, so I decided to try this product in hopes that a "defining" mascara would last longer without clumping than a plain "volumizing" mascara, but I was wrong. The black color is nice and it looks great when applied well, but this is difficult to do. It started clumping on application after just a few uses, and when I wore it all day it would flake off. Additionally, what's left at the end of the day is pretty difficult to remove, even with an eye makeup remover that has worked well for me in the past with other mascaras.

The wand applicator is too large. The mascara is sticky and too thick. It is also hard to remove. I will not purchase it ever again.

I used it everyday. I like to vary between makeup items so I bought and different mascara. I wish I bought it instead of the other one

Volum' Express One-by-One by Maybelline is an average mascara, though I do like the brush. The mascara creates more length rather than volume. I like how the applicator makes my lashes a bit curlier and it doesn't smudge. However, you won't be able to apply several coats of this mascara because it will result in flaking (with or without a mascara base). Perhaps, a water-proof version of this mascara has a different story. Overall, the mascara is nothing to brag about. For now, I will continue using my old and proved Lancôme Définicils Precious Cells mascara (although it is quite expensive), until I'll find something less expensive that works!

This is the best mascara I ever used. I love the fact that it doesn't clump & it's not all globby. My lashes have never looked so long & lush. My eyes just pop.

this mascara is okay, I bought it mainly because of the brush cause I have covergirl's lash blast in the orange-ish tube & I really liked it cause of the plastic brush but it smudges all the time, so I figured that maybelline, always having all the best mascaras, would definitely out-do covergirl and, in a way, they did.. sometimes it clumps but you can get it de-clumped fairly easily & it is pretty sticky, too, so I definitely wouldn't recommend using a whole lot of it but it still works pretty well & you don't even need to use a lot, to begin with to get more volumized lashes, however, I definitely like maybelline's classic volum' express much, much better

Tried this after trying Maybeliline's "Falisies" mascara. I hate that their mascara FLAKES! I took this back. I don't want to wear the stuff underneath my eyes. It would have been fine had it not been for the flaking, and periodic smudging under the eyes. With all of the mascara that they make, you'd think they would figure out how to eliminate this problem.
