One side is a dry-erase board, the other is a magnetic chalkboard. Whatever your artist's mood this portable drawing board comes complete with three sticks of colored chalk, a dry-erase marker, plus 36 magnetic letters and numbers!
Comments about Melissa and Doug Magnetic Chalkboard/Dry-Erase Board, Ages 3+, 1 ea:
I primarily bought this because I'm working on a project and I needed a board to write on. I liked the idea of this board having a dry-erase side as well as chalkboard side. Additionally, it included magnetic letters and numbers along with the necessary chalk, marker, and eraser. I really wanted the chalkboard side (which looks really nice in the advertised pic) more than the dry-erase side, but having both is a plus.
Unfortunately, the chalk's side is really not all that. Maybe because the black cover is magnetic (the white side isn't) that it is not really smooth to write on with chalk. Writing with the chalk requires pressure which makes erasing not so clear. Coloring in with the chalk can sometimes be "erasing" instead. The magnetic pieces are cardboardish but are decent when new. I imagine, wear and tear would cause the corners to fold up like the corners of an old textbook. I wish more letters and numbers were given, then again, this product is less than $20. The dry erase marker comes in blue and the dry erase side seems to work fine. I'm just bummed about the chalk side...
Overall, this product is not bad for play. After all it is hand-crafted, under $20, and complete (board, writing material, eraser). For my low budget, I know I could have bought something more worth it for my project. But since I"ve opened this, I can no longer return it. Anyway, I'm always around children and I love school-like materials.
I hope this helps, but buy at your own will :)
Service and delivery comments:
Service delivery was very prompt! I guess the product arrived in good condition, but a couple of the chalk pieces easily broke into two pieces. I would like to return the product but I opened it already.
Was this a gift?:
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
