First I want to quickly address the comment by the person whose dishes were stained by the scent: This is an aberration. I've used Method dish soap (mostly cucumber, also the now-discontinued grapefruit) for years and never experienced anything like that. In my experience, almost no scent lingers after rinsing, and what little there is fades away as the dishes dry.

The short review: It lasts forever. It cleans really well. The scent is mild and clean. It foams up nicely and rinses easily. The pump bottle is a real problem, but not yet enough of one to dissuade me from using this dish soap.

The long review: I don't know what the deal is with Method and containers. I've tried their laundry detergent with every new style of bottle and they've all been more trouble than they're worth, including and especially this new bottle - the same bottle they are now using for their dish soap. The pump is powerful - it squirts out way too much. If you try to do a little half pump you still get too much, and some winds up dribbling down the neck of the bottle and making a mess. The bottle requires that you keep it upright (don't tilt!) yet the mouth of the spout is cut so the soap will squirt off to the side, not down into your sink or onto your scrubby.

The strengths of Method dish soap are canceled out by this bottle. A little bit goes a long way? Too bad the bottle dispenses way more than you'll need, so much winds up down the drain. And it's impossible to get the last of the soap out of the bottle because of the complicated mechanism of the pump. More waste. Yay. I'll go ahead and mention this as well: The previous bottle (imperfect but much better than this one) held 25 oz. of product. This one holds 18. The price is the same.

I solved the problem of the bottle easily enough by going to the dollar store and picking up one of those handy squeeze bottles such as you see in diners or at hot dog stands, holding ketchup or mustard. Yes, getting the dish soap out of Method's terrible bottle was a pain, but all is well now.

Dear Method: What's so wrong with the bottle used by every other brand of dish soap? Seriously!

Powerful cleaning, gentle on the skin/hands & environment. Be sure you do not use too much of this product at one time, because it is a concentrated formula. Simply follow the instructions on the bottle for fresh, squeaky clean dishes and happy hands! :-)

The scent of this soap will 'stain' all of your plastic ware. I limit my use of plastics but its necessary for getting lunch to and from work. I was careful in building a collection of 'happy' plastics. Now it all reeks of this cucumber scent. No amount of washing, boiling, soaking in vinegar, scrubbing with baking soda, or exorcism has helped to even lessen the smell. Now I've done double environmental damage from having to throw out perfectly good plastic because it makes the contents it holds inedible.
