Comments about Microlife Manual Inflate Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor, Model BPA50, 1 ea: I just needed a simple blood pressure monitor. It didn't need to have lots of bells and whistles, so I got this instead of the pricier ones available. I chose this one as it looked easy enough to use and also was an arm-cuff model, which are said to be more accurate than wrist-cuff models. When I got this, the instructions were pretty simple, but I found that about 1 out of 5 tries would not register any pressure in the monitor after lots of pumps. I checked the troubleshooting hints, and it said that if the monitor registers 0 after pressure was applied, to check the connections of the two tubes. Well after doing that numerous times, I still can hardly ever get a reading (which probably just makes my blood pressure abnormally high out of frustration!); I am thinking this one is probably defective, but I guess you get what you pay for.
