I would definitely use primer or put foundation on lid before applying this eye shadow. I put on before work and it is still there when I get home. I use when I go out dancing or whatever and the color does not fade or smudge.

The colors are fantastic, and they can be combined in different ways to match the occasion. HOWEVER, the colors ALL break with normal use. I bought three different sets, replaced ALL three sets because the completely broke apart (the store replaced them for me for free), and ALL three sets broke apart again. I'm not hard on my things; I don't even throw my makeup into a bag or toss it on a counter or bed. I've NEVER had eyeshadow (or blush) break on me until now. Save your money and buy something more durable.

These shadows are so soft and effortless to apply. The colors are beautiful and emphasize the eyes in a very subtle way. So glad I bought this!!!

I love the colors in this palette. They are very red toned browns, somewhat cool tones. With my dark hair, blue/green eyes and lighter skin I tend to stick more with the cool tones, this works great for that. It's not a lot of eyeshadow, it is very versatile, spplied slightly wet it has a foil effect. Blends well, buildable color. I use a soft shadow brush and find I get better color with less waste than using the included applicator. I love these shadows - that said, they DON'T TRAVEL WELL. Very fragile. I've lost two to pushy cats knocking things about. I've bought this pallette 3 times, they black/grey/silver one twice, and the jewel toned one only once (because it was too warm toned for me.) Very worth it for the cost here at drugstore.com

I got this yesterday and couldn't wait to try it. The colors were good but they were too close together and i didn't like how they were shaped because it was hard to get an even amount on the brush. I put it in my purse for touching up later and when i took it back out, all the eyeshadow was broken! Now it is completely un-useable because it broke off the case and crumbled!
This is horrible quality and i will not repurchase!

It's not the best eyeshadow, but it's very cheap. Worth it! Very easy to apply, the collors are amazing, good to make a smoky eye. I use almost everyday.

Thrifty ladies of color, if you're looking for a drugstore option that won't cost (think MAC), Milani eye shadows are the way to go. For $6-7 these colors are well pigmented (they POP on my skin), especially compared to most cheap options that won't show up on darker skin tones.

However... the title Designer Browns is misleading as they turn out more as shades of pink and red than highlighting naturally brown skin tones. I would more highly recommend the other colors of Milani eye shadows. Overall they also fade easily unless applied wet, but you get what you pay for. I am happy with the purchase!
