With my dark hair, blue/green eyes and lighter skin I tend to stick more with the cool tones, so I tend to mostly use the top 3 shades. I do use the golds for highlighting sometimes. It's not a lot of eyeshadow, it is very versatile, spplied slightly wet it has a foil effect. Blends well, buildable color. I use a soft shadow brush and find I get better color with less waste than using the included applicator. I love these shadows - that said, they DON'T TRAVEL WELL. Very fragile. I've lost two to pushy cats knocking things about. I've bought the Designer Browns palette 3 times, the Backstage Basics twice, and this jewel toned one only once (because it was too warm toned for me.) I love the intense, long lasting colors that don't fade and I get wonderful compliments on my eyes when I wear the color combination from the Glamorous Gems! The greens look like they might be too dark, but they are just right! I wish more people knew about and purchased this wonderful product! A little goes a long way so you can make your look pop or tone it down to a simple everyday look just by varying application pressure or using this with or without a primer. With my primer- the golds were INTENSE and lasted all day with no creasing. Really happy with this combination of colors and price.
