My doctor put me on Miralax a few years ago when it was only administered by prescription. About 2 years after that it was available over the counter. This is a godsend!!! If you suffer with constipation or dry stools and don't eliminate your waste every day, this is the product for you. I put a capful in my coffee and it has no taste. It works extremely well and makes me feel normal. Trust me, you will feel much better when you can go regularly.

Both of my kids have GI issues which lead to occasional constipation. MiraLax is effective, gentile, and easy to administer (check with your doctor for dosing for children). My kids both know when they're taking it, and both say that there's NO taste when dissolved in water. It does make milk look and taste different, so we avoid that. Some juices are okay, but on occasion the MiraLax causes a slight change in taste. Most importantly, my kids get relief without cramping, discomfort, or loss of control over their stool.

I was born with an extremely twisted colon (8 on a 1-10 scale); it isn't operable. Have done everything i can in relation to lifestyle: whole grains, veggies, fruits; am mostly organic and vegan except for local goat cheeses, uncaged omega-3 eggs; an occasional salmon boost. Also gluten-free and no refined sugar.
But this is a congenital structural problem. So spent teens in hospital, took milk of mag (hate it) for years, etc.
Now take Miralax every day in a.m. cup of coffee. It works.
Now only have to have a colonoscopy every five years instead of every year, and my colon is "best case for a tortuous colon," according to gastroenterologist; also have had no polyps since using it regularly.
I also recommend taking probiotics.
If it works so well for me, it will for you, especially if you are a lucky person with a normal colon.
Just eat well (real food, not processed) and get exercise (I walk a lot and garden and do some yoga and a bit of repetitive boring exercise.) Eat some yogurt too and/or take probiotics.

I took this product everyday for just over a year and it effectively relieved my symptoms. However, after about 6 months I noticed that my hair was getting thinner and started falling out. Finally, I decided to stop taking miralax and after a couple of weeks my hair grew stronger and thicker. Now my hair is looking amazing again. The last thing you want to lose is your hair!!! Of course if you're already bald, I highly recommend miralax!
(For those with hair, try aloe vera juice and bikram yoga instead.)

Due to daily use of a constipating medication, I need Miralax. I feel very confident that it will ultimately always work which relaxes me. A secondary benefit. It is not harsh . In the pre-packaged individual doses, it is very easy to take along when traveling.
