Because I have to take medications that cause constipation, I need something to counter act that. I've tried everything! Seriously. I kept reading about MiraLax and decided to give it a shot. Why not. I was surprised that it worked in less then 12 hours for me. I used it for 5 days in a row at first and now I use it every other day, it was like clockwork. No nasty side effects like cramps, backache, headache, heartburn, nasty taste, hard to use. It was amazing. I mixed it in my hot cocoa the first time and still do that. You really can't taste it at all. I've mixed it in water, iced-tea, juice, hot tea, whatever. I recommend waiting to add ice to drinks after you mix it in. It will dissolve faster and not settle at the bottom of the glass. The only side effect I have is gas but I have IC so I'm used to it. This is a life saver. I've gone weeks without any relief so I'm a HUGE fan of MiraLax. I just ordered my next bottle today. VS Most Liked Negative Review Did not work for me Sadly this did not work for me. The great thing about it though is that its completely tasteless and odorless. I put it in my juice, smoothies, even oatmeal. I wish it had worked for me but for anyone who's hesitant, give it a try. Its very easy to incorporate into your diet. The side effects are SEVERE constipation. This product is a God-send. It is one of the only products I have ever used that is easy to take and predictable in its actions. Bowel movements are no longer a tortuous or violent act but merely a normal and comfortable experience. I hope others will benefit as I have from the product. At age 1 she was actually hospitalized because her colon had swollen so big. The doctors then prescribed Miralax, which she used until she was 6. She had a bloody stool yesterday and it was back to the ER (she's 9 now). The prescribed the same thing, except now I could get it over the counter. This is a MIRACLE drug. She passed a bowel this morning without any problem. Please never stop making this medication!! Drugstore.com emailed me for one last 2-bottle refill, choosing not to advise me that Miralax was alreday available at 1/2 the cost over the counter. The product works. Measure dosage to your own needs. I need less than the dosage amount specified on the package and I take it every morning. Regular daily use is amportant because it is not instant or overnight in performance. My wife uses it as well and it works better than any other fibre product we have used. I should have known better than to buy a product that was a chemical and not natural. I opened the package and was disgusted by the smell. It smelled like Elmer's glue. I took a dose last night and it worked but I'm going to go back to looking for something natural. I threw my bottle and the unused portion in the trash. This can't be good to put in our bodies! If you're considering buying this product I would recommend doing research on Polyethylene Glycol, the ingredient in this product. Look at the reviews on [@] too. I wouldn't be surprised to find that this is a carcinogen. Comments about MiraLAX Laxative, Powder, 8.3 oz: I was diagnosed with IBS about 10 years ago. I've been through several drug concoctions to try to control my symptoms. Several years ago I was prescribed Miralax. It worked wonders. Eventually I was taken off Miralax and given Zelnorm. Then when that was taken off the market I was quite upset because I was under control. To my relief, I went back to Miralax on my own b/c it is now OTC. This product is wonderful. It totally controls my symptoms. I rarely have an "attack" b/c I am so normal due to the Miralax. This is truly a miracle drug. Comments about MiraLAX Laxative, Powder, 8.3 oz: When our daughter's pediatric gastroenterologist prescribed Miralax for her six years ago (at age 18 months), my husband and I laughed at the name. We thought it was pretty silly to refer to anything involving poo as a "miracle". Then we filled the prescription, and changed our minds. Within a few days, our daughter had normal bowel movements. Not painful, not runny and yucky, just perfectly, miraculously normal. I am so thankful it is now over the counter so I don't have to request refills or get it only at the pharmacy. Now that she is 5, I called her pediatrician and asked if there was anything that could help her and they said Miralax..even for a 5 year old.
