Comments about Monistat 1 1-Day Treatment Combination Pack with Prefilled Applicator, 1 pack:
I hated this product! The "ovule" was lodged in the applicator and would not come out, so I ended up inserting it repeatedly trying to get it out. Finally, I had to use my fingers and it was a mess. Also, causes burning like others have said.

Comments about Monistat 1 1-Day Treatment Combination Pack with Prefilled Applicator, 1 pack:
I took this and then freaked out after reading all of the negative reviews. Yes, I had some burning, but not a lot, certainly not enough to keep me awake or send me to the emergency room. After two days, I actually had an increase of discharge (yellow, yuck!) and decided to see my gyn. EVEN THOUGH THE PILL IS A SINGLE DOSE, IT DOES NOT HEAL THE INFECTION IN ONE DAY! Maybe the monistat was working, but the itch was still driving me crazy and there was some burning too. My gyn said the reason most people react to this med. is that they already have an irritated vagina from the infection. I don't think I'm ever going to opt for a topical over a pill again...no reason for increased irritation in the most sensitive area, you know? General things to aid in healing a yeast infection while you're getting treated are: 1) Don't sleep in underwear 2) stay away from sugar 3) take warm baths with epsom salts or apply a compress of water and vinegar. 4) take cranberry capsules (juice has sugar so negates the positives)
So, I would recommend that someone take the 7 day if they NEEDED a topical treatment just in case the one day is more irritating.. My pill, without insurance was just as much as this monistat treatment, with insurance was 7 dollars. So a pill is cheaper, faster, less irritating than the rest.

LADIES PLEASE READ!!!! I'm on a mission to warn as many women as possible about this product. To preface, I'm 29 and this was my 3rd yeast infection in my life. For my last yeast infection, I was prescribed Diflucan- which was awesome. Before that, I used a 7-day OTC product, which worked nicely. This time around, I waited a few days to see if I'd just clear up on my own since my sypmtoms were pretty mild. Finally I just decided to use an OTC product again (I didn't think my condition warranted a doctor's visit) and chose this product. ONE OF THE BIGGEST MISTAKES OF MY LIFE: I inserted the ovule on Wednesday morning. (Keep in mind that my sympoms were very mild.) By Wednesday evening, my vulva was swollen to about 3 times its normal size and I was bed-practicly bed-ridden with an ice pack between my legs. It felt JUST LIKE the day after I had given birth. I cried sporatically for 36 hours, missed work, and just prayed to get through until I could see my doctor Friday morning. I tried Benadryl, hemorrhoid pads, Excedrine....you name it. This barely took the "edge" off. The external cream provided was useless. I contemplated going to the ER, but was too horrified and embarrassed. This product produced INTENSE swelling, throbbing, burning and aching. It felt like I had douched with a combination of boiling water, chlorine bleach, and crushed glass. When I finally saw my doctor, he said I had a common allergic reaction to an ingredient in the CAPSULE of this product. He prescribed prescribed Diflucan, antibiotics (as a precaution) and cortizone ointment to soothe me. All in all, this product was not only completely ineffective, it made me feel 100 times worse and was a total waste of money, time & health. Girls, PLEASE avoid this product. It's not worth the risk that you may have a very common allergic reaction to it!!!!! AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!

Comments about Monistat 1 1-Day Treatment Combination Pack with Prefilled Applicator, 1 pack:
I had a yeast infection 2 weeks ago and used another brand, 3 day treatment, no problem. At dinner last night I felt a tiny twinge down there and noticed the slightest drop of whitish vaginal discharge that let me know that I may be possibly heading toward another bout, so I took preventaitve measures and purchased the 1-day ovule. I put it inside me and went to sleep at 10:00 p.m.. I woke at 2:00 a.m. with terrible, terrible vaginal burning on my lab*a., cli***is, and even where the med had dripped back toward my an*s. My skin was red, the hood of my cli***is was cracked and bleeding a little, the cli***is itself was unbeleivable swollen and itched to the core, and my lab*a were twice their normal size and looked like slabs of raw, bleeding meat. I jumped out of bed and ran to the shower. I washed myself several times over the course of an hour, but the pain and burning would not stop and the swelling continued. I tried applying plain probiotic yougurt to my vag**a, which did nothing. I ended up doubled up screaming on the couch and crying in pain as my husband grabbed the car keys to get me to the ER. I asked him to wait a few more minutes to see what icing my vag**a would do, so he got me a cold pack from the freezer and a Tylonol with codine. BY 5:00 a.m. I was feeling mostly better and was able to go back to sleep thanks to the Tylonol and the cold pack. Really, the cold pack applied to the lab*a and cli***is really, really worked and worked quickly. I have used yeast meds before, but this ovule is HELL!
