I found that with just the Basil laundry detergent, they didn't smell like anything when they came out of the dryer, even with the matching dryer sheets. The liquid does what I wanted- the fragrance isn't overpowering but a light, clean scent. I find that the clothes are just as soft and static-free with this softener as with Downy (my favorite until I tried to start using more natural products). Plus, I like that I can save money by getting Mrs Meyers products [...] I can't get these products in stores near me, and I hate to pay shipping! It has a less floral/fruity scent than most main market brands. The scent is light and imparts a clean scent to laundry. It is more econmical than it appears, as it does not take as much as other brands. It appears somewhat thick and makes me wonder if it could be thinned with water without reducing effectiveness. This one has more of a floral fragrance, and my guys weren't as wild about that, but my girls love it! This is a smell that I find soft and pleasant without being too overwhelming or perfumey. It can be a little strong if you use the full amount so I simply do not put as much in the wash and it still works fine.
