He'd buy his chemical based dish soaps and I'd throw them out. Well, finally tried Mrs Myer's and converted my husband. He loves this soap. It meets his every expectation: tough on grease and food, bubbles up nicely, and a little goes a long way. Now I'm happy because I've a natural dish soap in my house and my husband will use it to clean the dishes. The only thing, and I mean the ONLY thing, I don't like about this soap and the other Mrs Myer's products, is how strong the smell is. Rather overpowering for my nose. Lemon verbana smelled horrible to me; lavender doesn't smell like like lavender to me; geranium was too flowery. I have yet to try basil. But, since the smell doesn't linger too long, and the cleaning ability of this soap is so good, I'll keep buying Mrs Meyer's. I was actually surprised because I was just looking for a "greener cleaner" and was afraid it wouldn't work as well as "regular" cleaners. But no, this performs great. I'm giving it just 4 stars because the wonderful lavender smell can get kind of heady after a while, so I swap out with other Mrs Meyer's "flavors" for variety. I have the lemon verbena scent, which is pleasant enough, but it's a bit strong for a dish soap (would be nice as a beauty product). Sometimes I drink out of a water glass that still has the residue and I can taste the soap. I think I will go back to Seventh Generation or one of the natural soaps that are less scented. It foams up well, does a good job of getting the dishes clean, but most of all I like the scent: clean, natural and pleasing.
