This was my first hand soap purchase and as expected, I was not disappointed. The Basil scent was new to me. I've used Lemon Verbena laundry products and stainless steel cleaner, as well as the Geranium and Rhubarb cleaning products. I've loved all the scents, but I imagine some folks who are more sensitive to scents might have issues with some of them. I have loved all of them. The only minor issue I have is that the bottle seems to create a vacuum, and every day I've had to unscrew the top to let more air into the pump bottle. Otherwise, I love it! VS Most Liked Negative Review It does not smell Basil! Mrs Meyers has unfortunate products with unsuccessful Basil fragrance. My favorite is Parsley. The ordinary fragrances such as lemon, honeysuckle, lavender can be found in many products, so the herb fragrances are even more special and fresh smelling.
