I like the extended release so I don't have to remember to take a pill all throughout the day. I think it helps some but not a lot more than just drinking extra liquids. I haven't had as much luck with it as a lot of other people have. One problem I have with it is I get a tendency to develop a urinary tract infection after using it for a while, even though I drink liquids with it all day long. Every time I take it I notice that I start having pain over my kidneys & sometimes my urine starts to burn. If I drank any more liquids with it than I already do I would be in the restroom continually so I don't know how to avoid this side effect. If I forget the mucinex, I get up and take it. Within a half hour I am able to relieve a stuffy nose and fall back asleep. Pros

AND I HAVE TRIED NEARLY EVERY KIND OTC THERE IS! This sucks it out and I will feel better within a couple of days with no antibiotics!! So, you are not wasting your money with this. Pros

I started it Friday at 4pm and two hours later my horrible cough quited down so much and I could speak without my voice cracking. I was able to stay awake without drowsiness and able to sleep without a troublesome cough. A day later I feel the cold is now going away since all the mucus is thinning and not making me cough. I did drink alot of water though because it made my mouth dry but that is tolerable enough for me. Try this and you won't regret it!! Pros
