Most Liked Positive Review Mucinex Years ago my allergist prescribed this product, which at that time it was not an over-the-counter product...it was known as Humibid/Guafinex. This along with a nasal spray has helped me to virtually eliminate nagging sinus problems as it helps to thin the mucous and keep everything flowing, thus lessening nasal congestion. It was recommended to be taken twice daily...AM/PM. I take at least one per day and have never had any side effects. Then a second-tier company got a "new drug" registration on this 60 year old medication, made it over-the-counter (so no one else can sell it by prescription), and raised the price to [$] per tablet. Usually I only need to take one tablet every morning. On a very rare occasion I will also take another tablet 12 hours later. The 600mg tablets work best for me.
