Most Liked Positive Review Mucinex Years ago my allergist prescribed this product, which at that time it was not an over-the-counter product...it was known as Humibid/Guafinex. This along with a nasal spray has helped me to virtually eliminate nagging sinus problems as it helps to thin the mucous and keep everything flowing, thus lessening nasal congestion. It was recommended to be taken twice daily...AM/PM. I take at least one per day and have never had any side effects. It was recommended to be taken twice daily...AM/PM. I take at least one per day and have never had any side effects. I always take one about an hour before a vocal performance as it clears up any nagging congestion in my sinus area...which is very crucial for a vocalist. One last note...Mucinex is also vital for keeping the common cold in check because it does not allow mucous build up in the sinuses, throat, or chest. I highly recommend this product for allergy or cold suffers. VS Most Liked Negative Review Works, but price is a rip-off When Guaifenesin CR was a prescription item, it cost about $.20 per 600 mg tablet, or less. Then a second-tier company got a "new drug" registration on this 60 year old medication, made it over-the-counter (so no one else can sell it by prescription), and raised the price to [$] per tablet. Comments about Mucinex Expectorant, 600mg, Extended-Release Bi-Layer Tablets, 100 ea: My husband was told by our doctor to take 2 of these twice a day along with other remedies to control his severe allergies. Taking 4 of these each day makes the bottle empty pretty quickly and the cost to stay on this medication has become almost impossible to afford. While it is a very effective medication, we are trying to find something "generic" that will work as well while being more affordable to us. Comments about Mucinex Expectorant, 600mg, Extended-Release Bi-Layer Tablets, 100 ea: I was prescribed Mucinex as a treatment for interstitial cystitis, and it has helped my urethritis a lot. I still take Cystex occasionally, but just at the first twinge of something in my bladder, and then it goes away. Comments about Mucinex Expectorant, 600mg, Extended-Release Bi-Layer Tablets, 100 ea: I take this as part of the Guaifenesin Protocol for Fibromyalgia. It works! I love Drugstore.com They are a reliable, polite company. I LOVE the fact I can read the INGREDIENTS online.....not many websites care enough to do that! I have to avoid botanicals (salycilates) so I try to buy everything from this website, in gratitude for displaying the ingredients! In a regular drugstore I need a magnifying glass to read them! Comments about Mucinex Expectorant, 600mg, Extended-Release Bi-Layer Tablets, 100 ea: Guiafenesin is an expectorant, not a decongestant -- it is supposed to make nasal and bronchial secretions thinner. I had an annoying problem with thick mucus clogging up my eustachian tubes; I took this religiously twice a day for three weeks, and my ears were a lot less pluggy. Not perfect -- just better. Drinking lots of water helps, too. Comments about Mucinex Expectorant, 600mg, Extended-Release Bi-Layer Tablets, 100 ea: This is a great product. I have chronic congestion and this is the only product that actually loosens phlegm to clear my respiratory tract. It does not clog me up like other so called decongestants. Best of all it does not make me either tired or jumpy, it just does what it is supposed to with no side effects. Comments about Mucinex Expectorant, 600mg, Extended-Release Bi-Layer Tablets, 100 ea: I LOVE this product! It relieves sinus congestion. I work in a building that is 30+ years old and developed sinus infections about 4 times per year. Now I use Mucinex daily and the sinuses are clear. Comments about Mucinex Expectorant, 600mg, Extended-Release Bi-Layer Tablets, 100 ea: This products purpose is to thin mucous. It helps keep mucous from hardening or settling in your chest. You will need to drink more water and blow your nose more often. I've found it does what it's supposed to without any ill side effects. I have a chronic sinus condition and need to take this on a daily basis. ![]() |
