Indications
Helps loosen phlegm (mucus) and thin bronchial secretions to rid the bronchial passageways of bothersome mucus and make coughs more productive.
Temporarily relieves: Cough due to minor throat and bronchial irritation as may occur with the common cold or inhaled irritants. The intensity of coughing. The impulse to cough to help your child get to sleep.
Drug Interaction Precautions
Do not use in a child who is taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (certain drugs for depression, psychiatric or emotional conditions, or Parkinson's disease), or for 2 weeks after stopping the MAOI drug. If you do not know if your child's prescription contains a MAOI, ask a doctor or pharmacist before giving this product.
Warnings
Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact Poison Control Center right away.
Ask a doctor before use if the child has: cough that occurs with too much phlegm (mucus), persistent or chronic cough such as occurs with asthma or chronic bronchitis
Stop use and ask a doctor if cough: lasts more than 7 days, comes back, occurs with high fever, rash, or persistent headache These could be signs of a serious illness.
Tamper Evident: Do Not Use if seal under bottle cap printed "Sealed for your protection" is torn or missing.

I bought this last month when my son had a bad cough. I gave it to him one time and his cough was gone the next day. I just gave it to my daughter she just started coughing. I saved a trip to the doctor. It works so well. I will only buy this cough syrup. The others just don't work on my kids. The kids dislike the taste but it works.

This is by far the best cough medicine I've ever given to my kids!! We used to swear by Delsym, which always worked so well for all of us, but the last few times we've used it, it just hasn't done much to help them stop coughing. Then I found this and figured I'd give it a try. Not only does it quiet their cough really quickly, it helps break up the chest congestion, just like it says. The only drawback is that it tastes like, well...cough syrup, and is bright red. My 6 year old takes it just fine with a drink to chase it down, but it's a fight getting it into my 2 year old, which usually requires a tag-team effort by me and hubby. It's worth the fight, though. Give it a try...I'm glad we did.
