Drug Interaction Precautions
Do not use if you are now taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (certain drugs for depression, psychiatric, or emotional conditions, or Parkinson's disease), or for 2 weeks after stopping the MAOI drug. If you do not know if your prescription drug contains an MAOI, ask a doctor or pharmacist before taking this product.
Warnings
Do not use for children under 12 years of age. Ask a doctor before use if you have persistent or chronic cough such as occurs with smoking, asthma, chronic bronchitis, or emphysema or cough accompanied by too much phlegm (mucus)
Stop use and ask a doctor if cough lasts more than 7 days, comes back, or occurs with fever, rash, or persistent headache. These could be signs of a serious illness.
If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a health professional before use. Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.

Codeine is about the only thing that rids me of my cough, but since that can't be taken all the time, Mucinex DM is the only thing that calms my cough enough so I can get through the day.

This product worked great! My mother had lots of coughing and chest congestion - - after taking the first dose the congestion "broke up" and she only rarely coughed.

I have a nasty persistent cough. This is the FIRST drug my allergist insisted I take and take it consistently. I really does cut down on the phloem and stuff that contribute to the cough. So it is my first line of defense. I have been taking it since it appeared on the market - probably took it in it's Rx form before that on an as needed basis.

I was concerned about the effectiveness vs the price. It is on the pricey side but I was desperate since I was traveling and needed relief. Wow! I was surprised that it really did work. I know the commercials are on the disturbing side but the end result was worth it. It took about a fully day (2 doses) for me to completely feel relief but it did work. I did have some coughing from the drainage and my nose was a little tender from wiping but overall I am an official fan.

I take it the minute I have the hint of things settling in my chest. The other day I woke up with a voice several octaves lower than normal and that lovely little feeling of heaviness in my chest. I took this for one full day and wham...felt fine the next morning. It doesn't let anything get ahold of you. If it already has, it quickly takes care of business. I couldn't survive a north east winter without it.
Do not crush, chew, or break tablet. Take with a full glass of water. This product can be administered without regard for the the timing of meals.
Adults and children 12 years of age and over: 1 tablet every 12 hours. Do not exceed 2 tablets in 24 hours.
Children under 12 years of age: do not use.
