How does anti-backflow technology prevent sinus re-infection?
After squeezing, other irrigator bottles become "crushed" and draw the bacteria-laden solution from the nose back into the bottle and hard-to-clean tube. This hygiene risk has been shown to cause sinus re-infection. This state-of-the-art NasalCare® nasal irrigator has overcome the problem:
Liquid valve: solution can only flow into the sinuses, not back into the bottle
Air valve: prevents negative pressure from crushing the bottle, allowing solution to continually flow into the sinuses for efficient cleaning.
Only when the two valves, not a single air valve, work in tandem can backflow be truly avoided.
It is recommended to use only lukewarm distilled, previously boiled or sterile with NasalCare. After making solution in bottle, you may warm solution in microwave without the cap (time needed varies depending on make/model of microwave). We recommend warming in increments of no more than five (5) seconds so that excessive heating is avoided. Over-heating can damage bottle.
