I was a little nervous about trying a natural brand of tampon but had had a bad reaction to the non-natural brands- almost like an allergic reaction to something they used to treat the cotton. I tried these and have had no problems with allergic reactions in the 5 years I've used them. Would definitely to recommend them to someone who has trouble with the chemicals in the non-natural ones- for whatever reason. I recently tried the Seventh Generation ones that are comparable, but ended up sticking with the Natracare. Although the Seventh Generation ones were good, these are definitely better.As far as the non-discrete comment- these have an applicator, so that's hard to hide no matter what. They do, however, make ones without if that is an issue.

I am happy that there are natural unbleached products and biodegradable applicators available but these are very difficult to insert--the cardboard applicator does not yield when trying to advance the cotton. So it's sometimes a clumsy situation where it would have been better off without an applicator. They also occasionally allow leaking before being full, I think because they don't expand as much, as someone else mentioned. There once was an excellent version of another brand that was discontinued and I have never found an adequate replacement. These suffice for all days but the heaviest and I'll keep trying them until I find a better replacement.

Why wouldn't we use organic, natural products for our "time of the month?" I love these tampons, they are absorbent, and effective. I use both the regular and the super, and have been using them for about 8 years. I will never go back to other brands.

These work just as well as any conventional brand I have tried -- plenty absorbent, and the applicator works just fine. Better for my health and better for the planet. Good choice!

I have always experienced burning in my vagina & inner lips around the 3rd day of my period that lasted for several days every month. I just lived with it.Then I found out that the burning was caused by the bleached cotton used in most tampons ! I have not had any burning or discomfort since I switched to Natracare organic tampons! I will never go back!

I use this product on my heavy days.
It's a great product, all natural, non toxic and easy to insert. You give up NO conveniences.
I wish this product came in a Extra Super Size because I have to rely on the nasty toxic products for overnight when I'm heavy. I also wish it came in the small junior size for my extra light days. But for "regular" and "super" days this product is EXCELLENT>

I am using more natural products for myself and family as I find we are much healthier. I do have infection problems so I read where it would be a good idea to stay away from any harsh chemicals like the bleaching and treatments in women's products.
I couldn't give them 5 stars as I have two issues with this product. I don't like that even with an applicator the tampon is hard to fully insert. I find myself often not using cardboard applicator and am usually forced to throw it that away as it does not properly release the tampon. And the price is a bit much so I switch back and forth between the Natracare and regular tampons.
