This does have a light, pleasent smell, much better than Repel. We live in the deep woods and almost nothing works, but this does. We have tried everything! Same warnings about limited use on kids, but no Deet??? Also, lasts a while - like 1/2 a day.

First off, I would like to say how the name natrapel is deceiving and makes us consumers believe its natural and safe (I didnt want to use something toxic like deet for my young children) and when I received it and checked the label - I found out that it was also toxic... I gave this a try a few times and it doesnt work! I think if you spray lots and lots of it on ... and not miss and inch...kinda like sunscreen.. then it seems to cut down the amount of bites to 50% . I had sprayed my son with it and a mosquito was trying to bite him two inches away from where I sprayed it!!! Not worth the money
I used this product on my 18 month old and it worked beautifully. I only used natural repellent but it wasn't strong enough. Her preschool is in a location where there are a lot of masquitos and she would have new bits everyday. Once I started using this product no new bites! Works great and has no strong odor and lasts all day.

Went to Yosemite in July and there were massive mosquito's. Noticed a dozen mosquito's on my husband shirt- when we applied this stuff ALL over- the mosquitos really did stay away! True, we both had a bite or two - but let me tell you - we saw people COVERED with bites who didn't have the smarts to have this stuff. I attract mosquitos very much - so to come home with a total of two bites was a small miracle- this is my new product! And the smell is not at all bad - and not sticky!
I tried many different products to repel bugs such as Off, Cutter, Avon's skin so soft, and this product by far is the most useful bug repellent I have ever used. It smells nice and leaves a nice sheen on your skin, and you don't have to reapply it as you do with other repellents on the market.
Purchased this only days before starting a vacation trip to Cambodia, Lao, Thailand in late June 2011. Never heard of this product before, had to "grab" something quickly online that can pass customs liquid volume specifications. Took my trip to SE Asia in late June - rainy, humid season. Despite living in sandals, and walks into deep jungles and fields, I might have gotten 2 mosquito bites. Also, this doesn't have an offensive odor. Downside: others with you might want to hog your Natrapel - it's that good.
I use this product on my toddlers because it doesn't contain deet and seems much safer - and it works GREAT! I absolutely love this product because it lasts longer than other non-DEET products, and even though mosquitos love my family and we live in FL, we do not get bitten when this is applied. Highly recommend this!!
I brought 3 insect repellents with me to Costa Rica. It could be enough to say that Natrapel was effective, but this is also a pleasant smelling repellent. The one containg 33% deet smelled like burnt plastic and the other natural spray had such a strong odor -- both gave me headaches. Natrapel kept me bite free for several hours of hiking through rainforest and open-air dining. I love this repellent!!!!
We like to sit outdoors in the evening, near the woods. This works relatively well in a active mosquito area. It smells MUCH better than most and the bottom line is it works well enough to allow us to do that with maybe just a couple bites all evening.
It is a violation of Federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.
Hold 4 to 6 inches from skin while spraying, keeping nozzle pointed away from face. Slightly moisten skin with a slow sweeping motion. Excessive amounts or frequent reapplication is unnecessary. Apply on face by first spraying small amounts in palms of hands and spreading on face and neck. Do not apply to the hands of small children. Repels insects and ticks for up to eight hours. Reapply every 8 hours. Do not exceed two applications per day. Avoid contact with lips, cuts, wounds, or irritated skin. Do not apply to excessively sunburned skin. Do not spray directly on face. Do not apply under clothing. Apply sparingly around ears.
