I normally do not get heartburn. finally I figured out it was this stuff. I took this after a meal or before and even w/out a meal,...it did not matter. the heartburn was excruciating!!! I had to take 2 pepcid for it each time, and it took well over an hour for relief,..so I stopped taking it. I don't know if anyone else has experienced this. However, when I take this with a b complex vitamin, 1000 mg of acai and a 369 omega blend, I can consume it without difficulty later. He was ill recently due to other causes and was not able to take any herbs. We found his blood sugar raised significantly, so we're unsure if this was caused by the illness or not being able to take the combination of herbs, including the Alpha Lipoic. He is now back on his herbs and his blood sugars are significantly less. Not sure if this is because he is over his illness or because he is able to take his herbs - but don't want to chance him not taking them!!! I also had trouble with the joints in my ankle and knee aching. Now no pain at all. I highly recommend this to any one with type 2 diabetes symptoms. I take 600mg 1AM and 1PM.
