I end up sleeping roughly 4-5 hours per night. Although I don't feel tired in the morning or throughout the day, it stresses me out to think about trying to get to sleep at night, especially since I do a lot of driving. I bought these hoping they'd help me fall asleep quicker and stay asleep until I was ready to wake up. I know that most people that take melatonin take a lower dose, but I went for these as they are supposed to be a time release formula. Unfortunately I did not find myself falling asleep any quicker than usual, and on top of that, I would consistently wake up after about 3 hours of sleep and then fall in and out of sleep for several brief periods (sleeping for 10-20 minutes at a time) until it was time to actually wake up. I probably ended up getting more cumulative sleep, but constant waking and nap-like sleeping made bedtime even more stressful. There were nights I was so frustrated I ended up taking 2 tablets but still had the same poor results. I gave these a decent shot -- I have about half the bottle left -- but I'm getting rid of the rest. REVIEWS Reviewed by 25 customers Sort by Displaying reviews 1-10 Previous | Next » Pros

Cons Best Uses Comments about Natrol Melatonin TR, Time Release, 5mg, Tablets, 100 ea: I sometimes suffer from sleepless nights...usually when I feel anxious about something or the day has been overly stressful.Maybe some of you can relate to the fact that your mind won't shut off when you need it to. I take one tablet about a half hour - 45 minutes before bed. It works like a charm. I fall asleep fast & stay asleep. No grogginess in the am & I feel rested & ready to face the day. Melatonin is a hormone that decreases as we age & this supplement is good for those that are older & suffer from insomnia. I don't take it every night, just when I feel alittle wired. At this price, it is well worth having in your medicine cabinet...just in case. Because who doesn't love a good night's sleep? Pros

Comments about Natrol Melatonin TR, Time Release, 5mg, Tablets, 100 ea: We wouldn't be without this in the medicine cabinet. It's best taken one hour before bedtime to work most effectively. This is the only sleep aid we use now because it doesn't cause the dry mouth that Benadryl does, and it works just as well. It's not addicting like some products so it can be taken as needed. We have found 5 mg to be the best dosage, as the lower dosages don't work well for us. Pros

Comments about Natrol Melatonin TR, Time Release, 5mg, Tablets, 100 ea: This is very great to have around the house for a few reasons! I used to take benedryl or tylenol PM as a sleep aid, but I kept working up tolerances plus it didn't feel right having to take medicine every single night like that. I wanted something more natural so I started looking at other sleep aids and trying them. This is by far the best I have tried! I don't feel as groggy as I do when waking up from benedryl-aided sleep, and it just feels very relaxing. I have also taken it when my anxiety spikes and I feel an attack coming on. It kept me from escalading and helped me calm down fairly quickly. Amazing stuff, I refuse to NOT have it handy. 5-HTP also helps me relax so I always keep it around as well. Pros

Melatonin TR helps me get to sleep smoothly and because it is time released, if I should wake, I simply go back to sleep because it is still working in my system. Pros
